Never played a ZX Spectrum, but there's a clear love and reverence for the system which comes through in the charm and appeal of the game concept, art, music and style. But where the style is charming, the challenge is looking to do anything but charm you. It will rock you. You will die, again and again. But you'll learn a bit more each time and feel like a pro pulling off the narrowest of victories over the obstacles in front of you.
Feels nice to control and the bite-sized levels keep introducing and iterating on basic but enjoyable concepts. Game also has a lot of charm. For the small asking price, this is an easy recommend!
This is such a solid break neck speed platformer. Lovely art design (with a setting for photo sensitive people) which, great, because this visual are intense. I loved the look and feel. Each level was a challenge perfectly attuned to the characters movement. Except water world felt like a kiddie mode in the middle of everything, but I wasn't mad about the break, but it felt like not a linear increase of difficulty. Not to mention the great cut scenes that added to the tone of this great game. Buy this!

Quick Description: -Quickly, Quackley is a minimalistic precision platformer w/ a really unique visual style and tons of good humor. This game is great and is one that I can easily recommend to all speedrunning fans. What's Good: -Really cool aesthetic w/ lots of bright colors, clean lines, and feels like a throwback platformer in all the right ways. -Really responsive, fluid, controls that make movement and jumping feel so good. The learning curve is slightly steeper than the average game, but the skill ceiling is also quite high. -Lots of charm in this game! There are tons of cute, cartoon cut scenes. There is also quite a bit of humor in this game, which I think is great. -$5 is a steal for a game of this quality. It isn't the longest game, but it's very unique in both it's visual style and also how movement works. This ensures that even if you have played every platfomer out there, you are likely to feel like you have played a unique and innovative speedrunning experience. Could Use Some Changes: -I really only have two complaints and they are small ones. The first is that there are only 48 levels and most levels only take between 15 seconds to 60 seconds. I would love to see a DLC or a sequel in the future. -My only other gripe is that the movement feels a bit odd AT FIRST. Keep in mind, that after about an hr, movement feels awesome imo. However, I struggled initially, so others may find the early moments slightly frustrating. Consensus: -Solid Game (Tier 3 and makes up 35% of my reviews). This game is awesome and is an easy game to recommend to precision platfomer fanatics. This dev is releasing NekoNecro next month and I can't wait! He's been working on it for over 4 years and it looks incredible. It's a hand drawn platformer that fans of this game will likely really love. In the mean time, if you are itching for a fun, creative, and challenging speedrunner, Quickly, Quackley is just the game for you!
Fun game, i can only recommend it. The movement feels nice, the levels are challenging. You have a 13 second timer on every level, so you're basically speedrunning all the time. Some levels felt really hard, but in the end i was able to beat the game in 2.2 hrs. I like the unique aesthetic and music. The story is also fun. Although the game is short, i would have payed more than 4€ for this game. The game isn't that well integrated with steam, steam notifications kind of stay on screen and look bugged, pressing F12 (the screenshot button) opens some kind of debug window, and the achievements are only ingame, not integrated into steam. I would like to see improvement in this area, but it's not detrimental to the experience.
Очень приятный быстрый платформер на пару часов
Nice challenging Precision platformer that's pretty enjoyable to play. Can be played in quick short bursts or a longer session to improve your times.
Si quieres tener una crisis de ansiedad, este es tu juego.
Bad lol We do a little trolling
It's just alright. Movement is super slippery kind of like Super Meat Boy (which I loathed lol). Beat in just under 2 hours. It's got a cool style and music is fun too.
