About
Quantum Resonance is a first-person horror game focused on stealth and survival. You play as a maintenance engineer recently hired to work in an underground quantum physics lab. Your job: keep all systems and machinery in working order. A simple routine… until everything goes wrong.
After several tests with a new experimental machine, the systems fail, the lights go out, and a series of explosions rocks the containment chamber. Something has entered our world—something inhuman and beyond comprehension.
The lab has turned into a dark underground prison filled with real nightmares. Alone and without help, you’ll have to rely on stealth to avoid the creatures and use the monorail to escape the facility.
Monorail system: Use it to move quickly, collect tools, and check each room's status.
Rising tension: Don’t be fooled by the calm at the start…
Stealth gameplay: Use the environment, crouch, and avoid being seen.
Oppressive atmosphere: The sound, music, and enemies are designed to make you uncomfortable.

A small horror game. At the beginning, it feels like you're back in Black Mesa doing some chores, but the later part is tough! I should add that I played it on Linux and on the Steam Deck — it works perfectly.
reminded me of half-life. loved that the developer subtracted an enemy when i was dying too much >.>
I would say this game is a slow burn horror game since it has you do tasks in one big loop quite a bit for the beginning part and it does get repetitive. The final / end part of the game is where all the action is in this game as you have to avoid multiple entities as part of your escape and I did like that one of the entities stood in the doorway while another patrolled the room looking for you. The game is well designed as well but it does feel very barren in terms of life as after the one scientist leaves you are by yourself in this big area and it would of been nice to have other staff walking around or doing something similar to the first Half Life game. This isn't a bad indie game but like I mentioned before it is pretty slow until the end part of the game and for the price its alright https://youtu.be/kyccqBA5r2c
very fun game with some cool mechanics. ending section was annoying af but its supposed to be lol. would definitely recommend
Great tension build up and unique mechanics. Probably the worst first day of work of all time. Recommended!
Great PS1 style horror. Great atmosphere, and cool concept. Some parts were a lil tedious, but amazing effort, love the animations and the voice acting.
Visuals are great at combining PSX and half-life vibes and sounds are also quite good. Overall this game is better then most of psx slop and would recommend to play it just for aesthetics alone. However there's a lot of issues with it as a horror game and with its gameplay and below is heavy spoilers with constructive critique for the developer:
1. Game is too tedious in the beginning. First run through every room just to read instructions shoukd have been completely removed. 2. Game is very restrictive with its interactions, which is more or less fine for its legnth but it just doesn't feel good that I can't open some rooms before game decides that I need to or that I can't even go in some directions (during escape sequence) 3. Game would benefit greatly from less scripted and more roaming AI and it even could have more routine maintenance or stuff during escape sequence if it would be more sandboxy and non-linear. I greatly recommend playing Voice of the Void (as reference for routine work) and It Steals/Lethal Company (as reference for AI) for some inspiration in that regard. 4. Great stuff with optional password over radio but when I reached PC I just instinctively activated protocol first and then game autosaved and blocked the computer. Not blocking the computer or saving BEFORE interacting with that would be a way to go. There is no sense in such punishment to the player provided how slow game picks up its pace (I doubt anyone would replay it for that) 5. It's quite easy to die during stealth in some rooms and I overal stringly disagree with relience on player skill for such scripted horror. Less is more, spooky stuff should play out in player's head. I strongly recommend reading Frictional Games blog on their website (creators of Amnesia) or at least checking out dev's lecture on youtube (Game design with 4 layers approach - Thomas Grip and some others that he uploaded himself but I can't find them sorry). 6. End sequence should have used clicking lever mechanic from containment room. It just screams to be used, because It would have more tention and player already understands the gimmick after doing it so many times. Also it is VERY easy to die in the end chase despite it requering very little skill and having low player agency: open door - walk - gold lever until sound - walk - close door - press screen. I am not the MLG Pro Quake player but I am also relatively good gamer and I failed it vefore last gate on first try. It is very bad for horror game to allow player to fail easily in scripted sequences and it is even worse to do it in the very end.
But I see that game is made carefully and competently in other areas, it feels like a flawed but real game and not some shovelware horror - I honestly could see someone like Markiplier making an entertaining video playing it (and it would be better then a lot of trashy horror games youtubers played...). I hope your next games would address issues and be great.
I'm a little torn on giving this a positive or negative review. Overall, I actually enjoyed the game quite a bit. However, there are definitely areas of improvement that can make the game even better. Let's start with the Strengths:

The atmosphere and ambiance is fantastic. I enjoyed exploring the facility, checking out the different regions, and the visual aesthetic presented. The low-poly, Half-Life inspire art style and presentation is a treat and a welcomed love letter to the title.
The story, though simple and straightforward, isn't bad per say, though it isn't particularly complex. It's a standard 'ripping open a door to another reality and facing the consequences' story.
The controls are simple, easy to learn, and beginner friendly. The mini-games aren't overly complicated and will not frustrate the player. That being said, they are pretty simple.
The skill curve! When the game detects you struggling and dying repeatedly, it does you the favor of toning down the difficulty until you're able to get pass a particular section. This is great for first time players, and there are achievements based around this NOT happening for a bit of repeatability.
And now with the Areas of Improvement

The game uses AI for voice acting, specifically Text-to-Speech with Post-Processing to give it a more 'human' sound. When I first purchased this game, I do not believe this was listed anywhere on the Steam page (added at a later date), which threw me through a loop. I'm not a big fan of using AI to replace voice actors. To me (as a teacher), using AI in a manner screams cutting corners, which is NOT something you want to telegraph as a developer. It makes me question where else AI might've been used.
The build up isn't all there. Nothing really happens in the first twenty to thirty minutes of the game. No building tension or hints that something is wrong, just wandering around an empty facility completing small tasks for a series of experiments. What is shown in the trailer happens
nearly exclusively in the final third or fourth of the game.
Having some kind of build up (whether it be tension, notes hidden around, or signs that something is truly amiss would go a long way to build a sense of foreboding).
I was ultimately left wanting more! With so much of the actual action
focused in the final part of the game
, I was a bit disappointed when it ended. Although I enjoyed what was there, I wish there was more!
Overall, despite my reservations about certain aspects, I still enjoyed my time playing the game. I love the aesthetics, the music, and the presentation, though it could use some tweaking from my perspective.
