Quanero is an experimental VR experience for the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. Your goal is to figure out what caused a violent incident in a futuristic bar by manipulating the time. You can slow down time, reverse it or bring it to a halt. Explore the scene, unlock the story's branch points and unravel the mystery.

It's a cool demo to showcase what could be. The execution is a bit rough, especially the acting. Please consider releasing the source code so someone could develop a full game out of this.

It's just not my style. I'd have really liked this game if it took it to the next level and had you solve intellectually stimulating puzzles which can be solved by collecting information over the same timeframe from many angles (for example, figuring out what went wrong on a spaceship by experiencing each part of the crew's activities and panel readouts before the disaster... solving murder mysteries Holmes style). Maybe I should have tried more of the game, but it seemed just to be very minimalistic.
Extremely short proof of concept, worth a shot. Walk around and witness - no actual interaction. Unfortunately no real story, but how much can you put together in one minute!
"Quanero VR" is an experimental VR tech demo featuring time manipulation and detective work. What do you do in the game? You witness a scene in VR and then you can pause/rewind and look at the scene from different angles to work out what happened, etc etc. The idea didn't catch on. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
A really nice tech demo for a full game. Definitely worth a look. It has nice graphics and interesting world building. If you enjoy this then check out the full game which has now been released, or try "The Invisible Hours" which is a really good narrative game which also uses time rewinding and replaying as a main mechanic.
a great little game and one of the coolest concept I've ever seen. I only wish there were several levels
do not install this, it is malware and will cause your controllers to not connect and app will no longer work.
