Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

You are Ranger, a warrior armed with a powerful arsenal of weapons. Fight corrupted knights, deformed ogres and an army of twisted creatures across four dark dimensions of infested military bases, ancient medieval castles, lava-filled dungeons and gothic cathedrals in search of the four magic runes. Only after you have collected the runes will you hold the power to defeat the ancient evil that threatens all of humanity.
Quake also comes with both original expansion packs: “The Scourge of Armagon” and “Dissolution of Eternity,” as well as three expansions developed by the award-winning team at MachineGames: “Dimension of the Past,” “Dimension of the Machine,” and the all-new “Dawn of the Machine.”
Ranger is trapped in a dimension of endless illusion—reliving the same violent cycles for what feels like lifetimes, dying thousands of times in a futile attempt to escape. Wearied but unbroken, he has heard rumor of The Nightmare Machine.
Beyond the hordes of monsters—twisted by an eternity in the Elder realms—lies the Machine. It is believed its destruction will shatter the illusion, finally breaking the loop.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

A classic returns!
Finally played all the official expansion campaigns the remaster now ships with. I replayed the base game 5 years ago, but I remember I really only loved the classic first episode. You have to be in the right mood to go through the following 3 episodes as some of their maps are not designed that well and lack a certain flow. I often read that people don't like the OG expansions Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity, but I actually enjoyed them. They're fine and I liked them better than episodes 2-4 of the base game. The 3 new expansions by Machine Games really beef up the overall package in terms of gameplay, fun, playtime and map design. Most maps are pretty big and can take 20-35 minutes to beat (in contrast to many OG maps that you can finish in 5 minutes). Finding secrets feels very rewarding and you kind of develop a sense for where mappers put them. To get a little closer to the 1996 crispy/crunchy pixel look I actually set my resolution to 720x400. For an even more authentic late 90s presentation you're probably better off playing Q1 via source ports like Ironwail or vkQuake though as they offer more settings and customizability. For everyone else, this remaster is a really great way to play Quake 1, its expansions and some curated community episodes. It has a ton of content now and you can easily spend 30-40 hours with the official episodes alone. PSA for Dawn of the Machine: Be aware that there are 2 endings. Getting to the "true ending" seemed like a very lengthy process on NG+ that simply wasn't worth it to me. Make sure to check guides and videos for specifics and requirements. Even for the normal ending you will have to replay some parts of previous maps, but via new paths so it doesn't really get boring.
Quake. I loved it upon release back in 1996. I revisited it now for it's 30th anniversary, and I stll love it. One of the greats for a reason, and it paved the way for many others after it. The new Dawn of the Machine expansion is a nice touch as celebration, and adds a very interesting dimensional loop mechanic to explore the same Lovecraftian, gothic atmospheres that defined the original Let's step into the slipgate and enter the dimension of the doomed, once more!
Boxes that were checked while playing this game: ✓ Nostalgic play ✓ Superb level design ✓ Pandora's chocolates ✓ Nostalgic play ✓ Loads of fun ✓ Coherency by being bullshitless ✓ Nostalgic play
Наконец можно играться с норм графикой под Линух на древнем ноуте без танцев с бубном!
dawn of gaming paired with nice new content makes me want to slow jerk my jamician JERK chicken. I give quake and machine games 5 big booms.
