QUAKE Mission Pack 1: Scourge of Armagon

[h1]Short Review[/h1] This is one of the add-ons that has been integrated into the modern Quake version. The standalone itself is in a very old state, missing music and being generally a "classic" version. No free mouselook right of the bat, controls being via arrow keys and so on. Therefore i wouldnt recommend this version at all. Unlike regular map packs this add-on features a few new things like enemies or weapons. I found the map design mostly solid, with unique ideas at times placed in like a mine shaft that slowly breaks apart but also very awful ideas like a tunnel that has rocks spinning around, being really hard to go through due to how the physics work. The two new weapons are also pretty much useless and serve no porpuse. A laser weapon which projectiles bounce of and can hit you. The only time i ever use it is when i dont have the electric beam weapon yet. Also there is an even worse weapon, a melee weapon that shoots out lightning. All in all there are some solid new missions, but generally it does not add anything new that makes sense. I had my fun with it at times, but I wouldnt recommend playing this version of the mission pack.
