This is a very chaotic, fun, and surprisingly interesting game. It’s a top-down shooter where you have to protect a chicken named Nugget. Nugget moves from nest to nest, and your job is to make sure it doesn’t get hit. The game includes different minigames, and some of them even change the controls, keeping things fresh and unpredictable. You can use various weapons, and there are also bosses with unique mechanics. I also really enjoyed the way the game pays homage to Guatemalan culture as well as to video game culture in general. The only thing I’d ask the developer is to add a setting to turn off controller vibration.

Crazy top-down game with lots of different (and very creative) weapons, enemies, and bosses. It’s packed with funny jokes and references to other games. The game also includes many mini-games that appear randomly and reward you when you finish them. You can buy different skins for your duck with in-game coins earned by playing. The art style is colorful, hand-drawn, and full of detail. If you enjoy a challenge and chaotic matches, you should give this game a try.

QuackSquad klingt nach unkomplizierter Action. Und das wäre es wohl auch. Leider schiesst sich das Spiel viel mehr selbst ins Bein, statt seine gute Vorlage zu verwerten, die es sich mit seinem Humor selber gibt. Denn das ist offensichtlich die grösste Stärke: QuackSquad nimmt sich selber null ernst. Als Kampfhuhn kämpft man gegen absurde Feinde. Das ist alles komplett überdreht und mit allerlei Witzigkeiten garniert. So gibt's schon im Hauptmenü schräge Eastereggs zu entdecken und auch im Spiel selber warten z.B. tonnenweise Minigames im Gameboy-Stil. Da steckt unglaublich viel Potenzial für extrem viel Spass. Aber leider völlig verpufft das Ganze völlig. Und der erste und wichtigste Grund hierfür ist die Grafik. Die ist zwar durchaus liebevoll und irgendwie passend gestaltet, aber leider ein Pixelbrei sondergleichen. Die Auflösung ist so miserabel, dass Texte teils kaum lesbar sind. Ich mag ja Pixelgrafik sowieso nicht besonders, aber wenn’s passt, kann ich’s akzeptieren. Hier aber ist sie nicht nur ungeliebtes Stilmittel, sondern ein echtes Hindernis. Und das macht schon sehr viel kaputt. Und ja, die Auflösung ist so grausam, dass sie alleine schon das Todesurteil wäre. Aber leider hat das Spiel noch weitere Schwächen. Da sind zum Beispiel die komplett fehlenden Erklärungen. Nirgendwo wird klar, was man eigentlich tun soll. Man kämpft (gegen was? warum?), sammelt irgendwelches Zeug ein (was macht das da?), und plötzlich ist das Level zu Ende, ohne dass zuvor erklärt wurde, was man eigentlich hätte tun müssen. Und Nein, es war nicht, dass meine Gesundheit null wurde, sondern was anderes. Was genau? Keine Ahnung. Und sowas ist einfach eine Spielspassbremse. Das wird besonders deutlich bei den Minispielen: Da wird man reingeworfen, hat noch nicht mal verstanden, was überhaupt die Aufgabe ist und schon ist das Minispiel wieder vorbei. Und dann läuft das Spiel auch noch alles andere als flüssig. Schon im Menü hatte ich das Gefühl, dass alles irgendwie zäh ist. Spätestens im Kampf merkt man’s dann richtig. Zuerst dachte ich, das liegt vielleicht am Gamepad und ja, damit spielt es sich wirklich grauenhaft. Mit Maus und Tastatur ist es zwar minimal besser, aber auch da nie wirklich flüssig. Fazit: Ein Spiel mit tollen Ideen, das aber komplett in der Umsetzung scheitert. Viel zu pixelmatschig, viel zu schlecht erklärt, viel zu zäh. Ganz klare Nichtempfehlung.

I bought this game thinking it would be something like Smash TV. You are fighting against chickens... upgrade your weapons and participate in wacky mini games while trying to keep a chicken named Nugget alive. So far I have fought a katana wielding crow, a frog lord of thunder and a "fallen" bird. Also some bald guy gave a jump scare.

This game is a chaotic and entertaining top-down shooter that manages to feel both challenging and fresh. The main objective of protecting the chicken while waves of enemies try to overwhelm you is interesting. The variety of weapons and bosses keeps the gameplay dynamic, and the random mini-games add a touch of unpredictability that makes each game feel unique. The art style is vibrant and detailed, giving it a very special charm. If you enjoy fast-paced, creative games with a touch of humor, this one is definitely worth checking out.

This game is really hard, challenging but also lots of fun. Gets pretty hectic from time to time, in a good way. There's also a bunch of mini games, a bunch of weapons and some really tough bosses. Considering the price, this game has a lot to offer and definitely a good amount of hours of play!

Its a chaotic game, with lot of weapons, mini games and many type of bosses. it keeps you pushing it until you win it... its like the old arcade game!! I recommend this game to kill some time
