It has to be said 'PYTHIAN' is both kind of genius and kind of crap at the same time. In short, this hard dance experience tries to put you into some of the biggest dance music gigs you have ever seen, with top dance-music artists like N-Vitral & Crypsis. It does this by placing you in an empty room that shows a 2D flat video on one wall and the room is then filled with the lights and lasers that fit almost perfectly from the video. It is clear a lot of effort was been made to perfectly match the 3D light effects to those, you see on the 2D video. My main problems is that no other effort has been made. No effort to make the virtual stage look like the real one, no real effort to put you into a virtual club. The effects there are could have just as easily been done on a Gear VR! But that is not the biggest kick in the nuts! While you do get 4 dance-music experiences for £13.99 (I paid £9.09 because it was in a sale) you then have to pay a further £9.00 odd to get just one more which looks like the best one! So in total, you will be paying almost £20! While I praise the idea of this experience it is not something I will be recommending anytime soon. Maybe, things will change when all the other experiences are available, but for now I am giving it the thumbs down.
Vivement le 27 Mars pour 1h de Masters of Hardcore ! Les scènes sont cool, surtout celle de Supremacy avec le contrôle des Lights et des lasers comme si tu étais en event !
a water, please
Super surprised to find a VR product for a very niche genre of music. So a niche for VR and a niche for hardcore. Bought it for the Masters of Hardcore event, after having heard about it on Evil Activities' podcast, thinking it was a steal for the price and let me tell you, they have a formula worth pursuing here. I had technical issues, the Valve Index controllers are barely mapped so only teleport and mute works, lobbies appeared empty and certain areas of the events was an absolute performance hog. But beside of that, the spot on lasers, the great green screen effects with some very enthusiatic artists, the quality of the localities and the "theme" of them shone through and made a very unique and interesting experience. Not something like being there in person but something else, something new and something I hope might be explored, even after everything opens up again. We have the foundation here, for something great. I briefly tried the throwback events and while it is super neat that they are added, they are not much more than a DVD of the concert on a flat screen with some added lasers in the environment you are in. Great for a watch but nothing exceptional. It's pretty neat that you are in a lobby with others watching it, though. Recommended for hard dance/hard techno/hardcore fans out there, if not just to support something great happening in this genre.
I do not recommend this in the current state. I have joined the first master of hardcore event with some friends but were not able to see each other. Currently there are only NPC's walking around like idiots, jumping and looking to walls...... Although it indicates that you are in a lobby with 30/50 people you only see NPC's which makes it really boring and not like what one does expect of this.
Was a lot of fun back in March but it has unfortunately been completely abandoned.
There is nothing to say. Thank you!
the events are freaking amazing! throwbacks not so much.
I wish I could write something positive and I really would like to support this app, but to do so I must be honest. I joined the event short before it started. I saw some people on the plaza walking around and throwing fireballs. When it started and I entered the boat (first stage) I was all alone. It was looking like there were many people, but they were all just bots. (They had no names, were not reacting to anything...) I restarted the program many times, read about these problems in the Stream discusssion forum, where others reported the same problem - nothing helped. I really wasn't in the mood to try enjoying the event all alone and just wanted to fix that problem. At 20:55 I finally gave up. Much later I saw in the forums that there was a problem with the hoster that caused these problems and that it would work now and they would restart the event every two hours to repeat it. So at 1:30am I joined again: There were a few people (around 6 or 7) and we waited untill it started. At 2am I got teleported inside automatically (I don't know why). I saw two guys from the plaza before, they also got teleported inside automatically. I asked one where the others are. He told me "behind you". I couldn't see them. When they threw fireballs I could see these, but not their avatars. So I restarted the program in the hope to make it work. Then there were ALL ~6 players in the plaza again. And then I recognized I also see the person here, who was inside the festival area and that person was dancing. So we learned this person was inside and outside at the same time. Then we tried to walk back through the door to enter the stage. We got teleported - but back to the other side of the plaza. We tried that many times. To sum ist up: it didn't work. Of all persons it seemed to have worked only for one person, that got teleported in automatically and stayed inside. It's very sad and I guess I really should request my money back. Still... I made a few new friends in the end and I really would like to support this project. One of these new friends was streaming what happened on twitch. So if he didn't disable VoDs you guys would have the option to see everything that happened. Btw I'm hobby Unity GameDev myself and may be able to help with specific problems. May I ask who is your host and what networking service provider (like Photon, PlayFab, ...) you use, if any?
