Reviews

Amazing story Masterfully crafted "choice-matter" design Awesome characters (I grew attached to them) Great gameplay Superb art, music and overall atmosphere Give Pyre a chance if you liked other Supergiant games. Although different compared to Bastion, Transistor or Hades, it has that charm all of these games have. 9/10 PS: Play till the 1st liberation rite. Regardless you succeed or not, you'll want to reach the next one!
A fantastic game that identifies motifs and themes of reading into themes and lens of a reader far more than most game that could far better be explained by someone who isn't me. So instead I will identify why this game has an insanely low completion rate, actually more people who played Elden Ring beat Malenia than saw this game to it's credits. The reason for tthis is unlike Elden Ring you have to make choices that permanently effect your playthrough entirely making a playthrough it's own. If you don't know the mechanics of the game it basically works in that you free people from exile who work as members of your party meaning as you progress through the game assuming you succeed in the process will be separated from the characters whom you've become acquainted but because of that relationship built you want to see them freed. Meaning each playthrough depending on who does and doesn't, when and where in the story gain their freedom give you an entirely unique playthrough to experience, these tough choices of who you let go of and who you enjoy the company of and grow closer to those you have yet to see why you might want to set them free. Oh yeah also the game is hard on normal and has no fail state, meaning you can just fail at setting certain members free or run out of opportunities to set characters free, meaning you're relationship will strain with them if you choose one character over another to set free. So it's for reasons identified within that rambling of thoughts which simultaneously make this game amazing but also make it hard to approach, if you want to see every possible spec of this game, you will basically need to play it a boat load of times. Howeverr the game is all the same enticing due to supergiant having an objectively perfect soundtrack and undeniably gorgeous art as well as fantastic and endearing writing. Conclusion, this game good and I wish more people were readers, or as the game defines that term "people who derive meaning from words" instead of just taking games on face value.
Pyre is such a unique game in many ways; the credits alone are honestly worth the price. Don't worry too much about the magic basketball, it's more about the journey anyway.
One of the most unique games I've ever played. Probably Supergiant's most experimental game. You can always tell they're making exactly what they want to.
literally the best game supergiant has ever made and yet no one played it. i'm so mad about this. you need to play it now.
Amazing concept with great execution. Lovely and unique art-style and an emotional and engaging storyline with memorable characters. Very strong recommendation.
