The Game is very good. Experience superior art and meet wonderful characters. Explore fantastic lands and seas, know the stars. Win through superior strategy and nuanced morality.
A very unique and well rounded game, made with heart, passion and lots of fun. The visual style and the music are undoubtedly the selling points of the game and are executed at the highest level. It's not just about the indomitably colourful and wildly creative artstyle, but also the character art and animations during the gameplay, that are a pleasure to watch. Darren Korb has outdone himself with the OST and listening to it weeks after finishing the game still brings up memories and pictures of places, characters and events from the game. The more controversial aspects of the game are the actual gameplay and the story. The rites (core gameplay), while seeming very straightforward on the surface, are surprisingly engaging and satisfying and the game does it's best to nudge you towards experimentation. Same goes for the story. While it is quite simplistic, it brings a nuanced touch through the delivery, the lore and various character you meet throughout the game. At the end this leaves us with a masterfully crafted, unique game, where every aspect works in harmony for a slightly unorthodox, but pleasant experience. And if you let the game to take you on a ride, you will long remember this journey.

I can't recommened this game enough. This game has a fun gameplay, good writing and character work, great difficulty options. I love the Titan stars, which is something Super Giant does to let you choose how difficult or easy you want the game to be. Not to mention a great soundtrack. I, like most people, found Supergiant through Hades, but I have to say this is my favorite of their games so far.
Super recommend. Pyre is a game unlike any I've ever played.
Pyre Weirdest sports game I’ve ever played. OVERALL - Good game. Would recommend to anyone who liked Supergiant’s previous games or anyone looking for a good story and a unique “battle” system STORY - 4/5 I thought the game did a good job making me care about the characters right away. There is an expansive world with a lot of supplemental text, but it isn’t truly necessary to read. I thought the choice to partially voice the character was actually a really nice touch. Then ending was pretty good, although maybe a bit underwhelming. Currently I have only seen 1 ending. GRAPHICS/ART - 3/5 I enjoyed the character designs. I thought they had a good variety, but they seemed to go together well. The landscape/world map was unique. It almost felt a bit abstract. Almost more like a painting than a map. But you could still get around just fine. I kind of wish they had a few more unique models during the combat, but I guess that would actually go against the theme/rules of the rites. There were some slow downs and choppiness during the combat. Was a bit unclear if it was intentional or graphical. COMBAT - 4/5 The combat/rites were very unique. Overall the system felt more like a sports game playing a team season rather than any sort of traditional RPG. Honestly one of the games that kind of comes to mind in terms of how it plays was NBA Jam or maybe Mario Soccer. The progression seemed impactful and the choices of masteries seemed like real decisions on how you played and wanted to use each character. Most of the talismans seemed interesting and useful too. Although I felt there might have been a few too many involving how much damage you do to the pyre. OUTSIDE COMBAT(World Map) - 3/5 Overall the early part of traveling was enjoyable. I liked the fork in the road system and how it was presented. I kind of wish there was maybe some sort of mini game that helped determine the extent of the reward/bonuses you got during those parts. After flying became available it was very fun to soar around the map, but after the 2nd liberation rite, I kind of wished the travel between stars was faster. UI- 4/5 Overall the UI was pretty good. I used the controller most of the time. I really liked how the dialogue was done. The red hover text that gave you a small description of any word that you might question was very helpful. Games I would recommend that have some similar aspects Banner Saga 1,2,3 Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten Transistor
Amazing story Masterfully crafted "choice-matter" design Awesome characters (I grew attached to them) Great gameplay Superb art, music and overall atmosphere Give Pyre a chance if you liked other Supergiant games. Although different compared to Bastion, Transistor or Hades, it has that charm all of these games have. 9/10 PS: Play till the 1st liberation rite. Regardless you succeed or not, you'll want to reach the next one!
It is a great game. Pros and cons + interesting story + good dialogues, really, it is one of the most important part + football/basketball gameplay part is great too. Each character is unique and useful + in this game you need to choose some variants and you feel the importance of your choice +-/-+ a lot of text which you need to read. It is not for everyone - it is boring at the beginning, I wanted to drop it
basket ball
Amazing soundtrack, picturesque landscapes, and it feels like choices matter. Decisions impact future gameplay and how you'll face your next enemy. Could definitely replay this campaign and not get bored.
