I'm going to skip my usual format and get straight to the point. I found this game to be more frustrating than fun. Some of the puzzles were nonsensical and from what I could tell, had no logical solution. Now that's not to say that all of the puzzles were like that, far from it. Many of the puzzles were very clever and really made you think on what you needed to do next. However, the final door puzzle is what made me really dislike this game. It's a timed puzzle, which I absolutely f***ing hate and I could not get it done. I knew what to do but it was impossible for me, I get frustrated easily because of this type of crap and I had to call in help to complete this garbage. Because of that stupid timed door puzzle, I hate this game. Get rid of that stupid door puzzle and this game would have gotten a thumbs up... but barely.
I *really* wanted to like this one as I loved all the previous mc2games Escape Room games that I've played, despite their jankiness. But they made the mistake of adding reaction/timed "puzzles" when the control system doesn't really fit it. Even switching from controller to keyboard for those sections, it was still needlessly frustrating and really left a sour taste... especially as one of them is right at the end. On that note, I really hope mc2 learns how to implement proper controller and kbm hot swapping, as well as generally better controller support. They've clearly thought about accessibility in some areas (using symbols as well as colour to help those with colourblindness) but they always seem to lack when it comes to controller implementation. Also, for some reason, I kept getting caught on geometry (doors and beams). The rest of the puzzles (the actual puzzles) were pretty decent and required some thought, although I do think they over-relied on very complex glyphs and symbols, which made making notes a bit of a pain. They also did quite a few that required backtracking between rooms and, even sprinting, that dragged them out more than necessary. All in all, this is my least favourite in the mc2games Escape Room series. 6/10 - only buy it if it's on sale.
cant adjust basic settings like FOV so it makes me a bit motion sick to move around.
Reaction based "puzzles"
The game has some fun puzzles, but the problem with the game is that the vast majority of the puzzles requires you to take screen shots over various pieces of information and refence them to solve them, there are also no tools in-game to allow this and the game does not have borderless windowed to allow easy alt tabbing. If you don't have two monitors or have a photographic memory don't buy this game. The other complain is I got to the final section of puzzles and the game soft locked me into a room I cannot get out of and even editing game files does not fix the issue rendering it permanently incompletable. I have attached a youtube video of the stuck experience as well: https://www.youtube.com/live/Rx6j7BjSV4o?si=0al8ygoucpsNjR6d
Loved this game - could be a little better linking between puzzles as a a couple are spread across different rooms so it was difficult (for me) to work out what went where. Gotta say I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the stargate... been wanting a puzzle type stargate game for a while and just wish someone would take the idea of this game and make it bigger. Most suggestions for a Stargate type game seem to just be focused on shoot em ups.... this is all about the Daniel Jackson element - which is great.
It is a solid game. Not great and not bad. It feels a bit long winded and some of the puzzles are badly explained and the solutions are not really intuitive. Also the controls are wonky at times and the camera could have used a bit of polishing. Also there is too much jogging around between rooms in the second half to get stuff for solutions. Can be mitigated by noting stuff down but I was too lazy to do that. So I was running around. The story does not really make sense. But it is an escape room game. So the story is secondary. Maybe get is on sale. Score: 6/9
Loved this puzzle game. Very creative: and a few of the puzzles really challenged me but I was able to complete the entire game without any cheats or help - though it did take quite some time to figure out the solutions to a few of them. Highly recommended!
Pretty good. Definitely a game worth playing although was totally lost at times. Would never have finished or progressed in the game without the guide occasionally.
Great escape room game! I would say its the most challenging escape room game I have played so far! However, if you are having trouble on a puzzle with an EKG, it may be glitched and you will need to look up the answer. Some of the puzzles require information from multiple rooms which forces you think out of the box.
