PUZZLE: CATS AND DOGS is a very loud game which offers many loops of one maybe mexican soundtrack I dont know. The sound was somewhat satisfying but after a while I wanted to rip my ears off. I speedran the game in 26 minutes so therefore some improvement can be made in terms of content available; there are two DLCs, one of which is free, if you want to scratch that 100% achievements itch. However, gameplaywise I feel there are better DOG and CAT PUZZLE games on the market. Some design choices such as being unable to swap the tile you just swapped, unless you swap TO that tile, make the experience somewhat more frustrating, compounded by the fact that there is no overall sense of the image. You can get stuck for hours looking at ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grass so I suggest a less tile-swap based system and a more flexible organisation approach such as a jigsaw puzzle layout. This would help the feel of the game as you aren't swapping rigid tiles and it would benefit from a more satisfying completion rather than spending the majority of time looking at scenery over dogs and/or cats. I enjoyed the quality of the images, although some felt recognisable from hours pouring over google images, and the actual quality of the images were rather pixelated which just infuriated the scenery swapping even more since many tiles were practically identical. Whilst the sequence of puzzles was short, you may revisit them so there is infinite replayablility. In conclusion, the game was worth being played, and although I didn't buy it I can safely assure the giftee that it was well spent. Some aspects were able to be improved upon yet for a small plucky game it definitely lived up to the aspirations of Puppy Dog: Jigsaw Puzzles, falling short in only a few design areas.
