Can't select ♥♥♥♥ after using the Tab menu. This port is a joke. No obvious way to rebind keyboard keys within game.
The select game screen is completely busted (pun not intended). The games are pure nostalgia fuel I would normally praise, don't worry.
The fact that this available on Steam is good enough for me to give it a thumbs up. I've had no issues with it playing on my Steam Deck.
Good classic arcade puzzle, with the characterized protagonist being the resembling mini-dinosaurs of the former platform Bubble-Bobble game. Loyal version of the arcade games not only in terms of music and sound effects, but also in terms of graphic aspect (with the obvious great color palette spread all over the levels). Difficult being adapted depending on the player skills. Very enjoyable to be playable with two characters in versus mode. Definetely recommended for those old-school arcade gamers who appreciate play some of this always-ready-to-play titles.
Very slow and poor graphics.
15 euros for a badly made port game? No screen resolution configuration.
Such a bad version of this game.... of all the Bust-A-Moves.... I loved playing this series in the arcade. And this version is such a piss poor version of the games, that even playing the first 2 minutes was infuriating with how the cursor controlled, how low the frames per second were, and the GIGANTIC screen that would leave out most of the bottom of the screen and you can't see the Next Color bubble.... AVOID this GARBAGE.. it's not even worth 99cents.... horrible experience
I LOVE these games. To be honest, i immediately recommend it for the fact that it comes as-is with the best Puzzle Bobble games (in my opinion). 2 was my childhood favorite. I didn't know Puzzle Bobble 3 before, but when i played it, it was love at first sight. Everything in this game is perfect. And the price being THIS cheap? Beautiful. The version included in these games is the Sega Saturn version (hence the "S-Tribute" in the title), so Puzzle Bobble 3 doesn't have the extra modes from the Playstation version. Really cool that they included both Japanese and American versions. There are some cool features in this re-release, too. It includes rewind and save state functions, which are incredibly useful for practicing and improving at the levels. It would be even better if there were multiple save slots instead of just one. But what I really loved about this specific re-release are the Extra Options. For starters, "Another World"—which used to require a specific command sequence at the end of the game to activate—can now simply be toggled on or off in the Extra Options menu. Not only that, but in Puzzle Bobble 2, you can choose which character to play as in Puzzle mode for both Player 1 and Player 2. These are very welcome improvements. The wallpapers and menus are also beautiful and well-crafted—something I really love about S-Tribute re-releases, even coming with a full Manual for the games. Unfortunately, the wallpapers were clearly designed with the original screen resolution in mind; if you switch to large screen, the image cuts off some of the characters' faces. However, I do have some criticisms regarding the PC version specifically: - The game runs smoothly on potato PCs, with one caveat: you have to disable V-Sync. Otherwise, you'll experience significant lag. Why do I mention this? Well, there was a slight oversight where V-Sync is the only setting that doesn't save. All other options save without issue, but V-Sync specifically doesn't, and it's enabled by default. This means that every time you launch the game, your first instinct will always be to turn off V-Sync. Thanks to the clean and convenient menu, it’s just a quick 3-second toggle, so it’s hardly a hassle. - The game supports gamepads, but again, there's a catch: you can only navigate menus using the left stick, while actual gameplay can only be controlled via the D-pad. This is a bizarre issue specific to the PC version; on Xbox, I can use both the left stick and the D-pad for gameplay. I did find a workaround, though: changing the Steam Input layout. Instead of using the official game input, use the standard Steam input. This allows you to control the game with both the left stick and the D-pad, just like on consoles. But even this has a downside: you can't navigate menus with the gamepad using this layout. You'll have to use your keyboard to get around. Fortunately, the in-game menu is an exception—you can navigate that just fine. So, you only really need the keyboard when launching the game. - The game's initial menu always opens in windowed mode, regardless of your settings. A minor inconvenience. Even so, if you love these games, I highly recommend this collection. Two excellent games, one great price—it's a must-have. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eu AMO esses jogos.
Great on steam deck but the game needs its aspect ratio corrected, all the bubbles are ovals because pixels are 1:1 when the original game isn't.
