There's a surprisingly decent game in there if you can get past the horrible sound quality and the often messed-up animations. Don't get me wrong, the game is lazy and cynical in many ways. But it is actually fun, and Putt-Putt's new voice actor did a good job once you forget how different it is bad the mixing is. Making it unplayable without an optical drive or a virtual disk drive is pretty unforgivable, though.

It's a huge letdown as the very last Putt Putt game to ever be released. Sure, it's technically not the worst one, but it also doesn't excell at, anything, either. It doesn't push franchise forward by improving on it's formula(say, adding item randomisation) like how Time Travel and Joins the Race titles did. It's not a solid adventure and it's not a funadventure despite the lack of said item randomisation, like how Join the Circus was. It doesn't have an excuse of being old or being the very first games ever, like how Joins the Parade and Goes to the moon were. It feels very similar to Joins the Zoo title, albeit slightly more complex(just ever so slightly) gameplay vise, but also with worse presentation(the premise, the voice acting being both worse acting vise and audio quality vise, reused backgrounds, very cheap looking animations). So unless you never played it and want to play it for history sake, don't bother trying to make it work by installing 3rd party software.

I loved this game growing up!! The quality may not be as good as the previous Putt-putt games, but this was still an enjoyable game to play during my childhood. I tried to launch the game back up today and it crashed on a black screen. I tried to launch it multiple times because I thought the first couple was a fluke, but it kept crashing. I did a little research and found out that many others were having the same problem. After looking at many reviews, I later saw that it had an update which caused the crashing and no action has been taken, nor has the idea ever came up on fixing this issue. Receiving this information has crushed my heart. This game still makes me very happy to this day and it is really heart-breaking that this has happened. Please find a way to fix this game and if anyone knows how please let me know. I do not want to give up on this game. Thank you. :)

Even if you can get it working, I would not recommend it to even give it a try. Had this as a kid and even then I would've told you this one just doesn't have anything worth looking into. Its extremely short and its just not a satisfying adventure like the previous games.
