TLDR Pros Initially interesting puzzle mechanics First quartet of girls is somewhat interesting Voiced H-patch Cons Later stages of the puzzle game start off with virtually impossible odds Second quartet of girls is rather uninspired Artwork also uninspired Matching more than three yields no special bonus LR Upon reading the many bad reviews before buying this game, I thought to myself "How bad can it be for less than € 5?". Boy, was I about to experience up close and personal how reckless that question was! Potential not wasted, but destroyed The puzzle mechanics seem rather interesting at first, with the player getting to choose one token per turn that can be moved anywhere on the board. The challenge is how the moving token influences other tokens it passes by. Doing this in such away that at least three tokens of the same kind line up, means that points are scored. Since the moving token has a timer on it, the trick is to make as many rows or columns of three before time runs out, while taking care not to create any matches between skulls, since these will cost turns. And all the available turns are sorely needed in the higher stages. So far, so interesting... until the dreaded timer shows up past the third victory for the first quartet of girls. (And perhaps faster for the second quartet of girls). Even if the seemingly very tight time limit isn't quite as daunting as it may at first appear, as it is halted as soon as you pick a token to move, the enormous point total to be reached combined with the very limited number of turns the player has to reach that total makes for very frustrating gameplay for anyone lacking the speed of an andoid. To put this in numbers: in the earlier stages the player has about 10-12 moves to reach a point total of between 1,000-1,600. In the first stage with a time limit this jumps up to 7-9 turns to reach 2,600-3,000 points with about 15-25 seconds total thinking time [i[outside of the time spent playing the tokens. Personally, I found that reaching a total of about 1,400 points in 7 moves was doable with 2,000 an extreme outlier if I got lucky. But 2.600 or even 3,000? No way. The only way out the game gives is lowering the total points needed after each failure. With most girls, I had to use this option at least five times in a row to reach a doable level. This absurd jump in difficulty sucked most of the enjoyment out of this game for me. What made this worse, is that the idea for the early stages of the puzzle game is actually rather promising. Somehow it's worse to see something fail that really deserved a chance than to see something fail that was hopeless to begin with. Sometimes more is less With eight different girls all voiced (although six of them voiced by the same three voice actresses) and with their own (H-)artwork this game may seem like decent value for money. Instead, I felt that even the discounted price of about € 5 didn't feel like a bargain. Apart from the frustrating gameplay, the bland characters of especially the second batch of girls contributed to the feeling of having been ripped off. Especially since four more characters means at least eight more stages of superhard gameplay. The Verdict 4/10. Avoid.
If you are expecting something like HuniePop just walk away. The "puzzle" is bad and the stories below average.

I wouldn't recommend this to a visual novel fan, an eroge fan, or a puzzle game fan—it's just that bad. The writing is lackluster, devoid of emotion and fluency. Sora's dialogue is probably the worse. Though Yogiri's is hard to read too. (I don't care how good a game is, using the word fappable repeatedly is means for punishment.) I thought I was just bad at the game, but the puzzles are really frustrating. You have to lose at least 4-6 times on higher levels just for it to be beatable.
The sprites are cute, but the CG's try to give the illusion of a big chest on the small chested characters—it looks grotesque.
"Okay, hear me out-- what if we take two Visual Novels from 2012/2013, strip them for parts, cram a puzzle game in there, and sell it as a puzzle game? Cha-ching, baby!" 💸 Are you looking for a game to fill the addictive hole that Huniepop left in your heart? This is NOT that game. As always, Purino Party isn't a god awful game... but it's not great. The puzzle play is kind of janky- you know how match-3 style puzzle games will usually give you a big fat score for lining up more than 3 tiles? Yeah, you don't really get rewarded very well for pulling slick moves like that here. If you want big scores, you pretty much HAVE to use fever mode, and that only lasts one turn (unless you trigger it again). Unlike Huniepop where you can only move one tile horizontally or vertically, in Purino Party you can move any tile anywhere-- and move things around with it. This means that you can technically just hold onto a tile for dear life and throw it around the board, rattling the rest of the pieces around and hope to line up enough to rack up a combo. When I first picked up the game, I managed to clear a number of levels without much thought to the game at all that way. At times it feels quite frustrating because it feels less like a puzzle game of skill and more a puzzle game of luck. If your board starts without enough pieces the girl likes (each girl has a tile they prefer), you're more likely to lose. You only have so many turns, and while you can get more time back on the clock, you cannot get more turns back. But you can lose turns super easily by accidentally lining up skulls. "Well, just don't line up the skulls!" you say. And sure, you can do your best. It won't help when the board decides to drop skulls on top of you regardless. Now, you can always lower the difficulty so you can get those anime lewds/nudes (depending on if you install the X-rated patch or not) but doing so will lock you out of an achievement, so do so with caution. There is honestly no penalty for how many tries it takes you to complete a puzzle level, just increased frustration as the girl of your choice cries out increasingly grating encouragements. Aside from the puzzle mechanics, there is work in here that looks alright. I turned off the music early in my playthrough (I prefer to listen to TV shows/ASMR/livestreams when playing puzzle games), so I can't comment too heavily on its part. However, the art is polished (same artist as the Grisaia series), and I liked the Visual Novel elements where sprites would bounce or move around with the dialogue. The voice actresses are top quality (although most are on the high pitch side, so during puzzles they could become more than a little annoying). The writing however was weak, but I'm going to blame that on the fact it's a hacked up Visual Novel (two, in fact) shoehorned into a puzzle game. Character wise, the entire cast of Pure Girl feels like a joke I can barely remember. Innocent Girl's cast has Kagari who at least felt semi-interesting/engaging, but the rest didn't stand out at all, even when they were flashing their tiddies and butts at me. My game had an issue during Hinako's puzzles where the game would freeze momentarily. Because of this, my hold on the tile would stop, and I would immediately lose my turn. I didn't encounter this problem with any of the other girls, only Hinako. It was weird. --honestly I'd prefer to have the Visual Novels (Pure Girl + Innocent Girl) over this puzzle game at this point just so I could see if them being stripped for parts was actually warranted. I've read some reviews that say they're average R18 Visual Novels at best, which I feel could be a step up from this frustratingly unrewarding puzzle game. 3/10. Huniepop 2, I wait for you.
this game is harder than dark souls but the storyline is funny as heck
It's no HuniePop but the match 3 aspect is very fun and a lot more challenging. I just wish there was more to it. It took me a few plays to get used to it but I actually like how in the match 3 you can move your pieces anywhere on the board instead of in the adjacent rows. It wouldn't work for all match 3 but it works for this one with the difficulty. I did not use any H patch and I did read through all the text, speed reading a bunch of it. I love VNs but I didn't expect much from the story, and didn't get much from it. I just wanted to play another anime style match 3. I completed the game to 100% in about 10 hours. Worth $5 for 10 hours of play.
