I was notably excited to play this game with my kids. Unfortunately, the controllers aren't registering for my Oculus Quest 2. I've tried verifying file integrity, messing with SteamVR and Steam Properties controller based settings, reinstalling, etc..., but no luck. There's a post in the forums on this behavior where the Developer fields issues, but no activity on this item and lots of talk about how the Developers aren't actively doing anything with this title any longer. I don't have trouble with controller support on any of my other games, so I'm confident the issue is specific to this game. I've sadly been forced to request a refund without having had the opportunity to play what is likely a very fun game.
This title is a rather casual and fun title which promotes creativity and storytelling. In this title, you play as a puppeteer, and you can choose the needed props, characters, backdrop and more behind the curtain, and stage out the story to the audience after you draw the curtain. The title is unique, and is great as a social bonding activity and to entertain kids too. The only downside is that there is a limited amount of props for use (but more will be added in the future) like backdrop etc. Also hopefully there is a recording feature that allow us to record while we act out a story and then we can upload the video to youtube.
Project appears to be dead all the way back as far as 2020. Not compatible with Quest 2. If you have a Quest 2, the game will boot and tell you to hold both triggers on the controllers to start. Nothing happens though. There are no menus, options, or anything. All you can do is kill the task process with Task Manager. The game's website is now for an Indonesian casino. Don't expect this game to come out with additional content, bug fixes, or to be made compatible with future VR sets. Save your money on this one.
http://www.hardcoregames.biz/puppet-fever/ this is a virtual reality only game so you need the hardware, this one would be a good choice for the kids to play
My daughter put on some funny puppet performances for us.I like the game a lot so far
Ok, ok, this game has a GREAT concept. For the one time my family got together and played it, we had a ball. But this game was too tricky to set up and got bland over time. It would be cool to have more props and even have an option for all the players to submit scene concepts for the puppetmaster to act out. But, I'm pretty sure this game has been abandoned, so..yeah.
The 'multiplayer' is a bit of a stretch. I imagine that this game could be fun at partys, playing in a pass to play manner. It doesn't work the way jackbox works by connecting smartphones which I kind of initially assumed. It is literally 1 person in control and everyone just watches on the TV. I was hoping it had online play so vr players could take it in turns to act but no feature exists. There arn't many cards and no way to add more so run out of content fairly fast. Set up: There isn't really much Instruction on how to set it up, assuming you link from steam to headset via link or cable. Automatically you see the acting booth in headset and audience on pc screen. You then need to cast your pc to a TV (or plug it in) so people can see the game from the audience perspective. I'm not sure if casting the headset to TV would work since that would mirror the booth. There is no instruction on how to do this and could be quite difficult for someone who just wants a quick plug and play experience at a social gathering.
:)
Fun! Played for about an hour straight with my fiancee, who rarely plays VR; and she seemed to really enjoy it. Think it'll be fun with a group over as well. Can't beat the price right now for under 4 bucks if you're looking for a decent local co op VR game.
Hugely overlooked VR party game that simply deserves your attention, especially if you have kids. It's a steal at this price too.
