So, this game is definitely fun. If you like Mario Party style games it is fun. If you only care about minigames, I would actually highly recommend this game. The mini games are legitimately a blast, and there are tons more in the workshop. However, the big reason why I'm writing this as a negative review is because of everything that is not a minigame. I am one of those weirdos that is obsessed with the board gameplay of these party games, and the way everything is balanced is just not it for this game. The items, for instance, are crazy powerful, and they aren't too interesting, with a handful of exceptions. Most amount to "deal damage". And there is no limit to the items you can get, but you receive them as rewards constantly! So everyone throws an item out every turn. And that leads to my next complaint, my biggest one. The reward system for winning minigames is rough. Everyone gets an item, and winning only nets you an extra +1 key compared to the place behind you. Everyone getting an item just kinda sucks, it makes winning feel bad because it does not make much of a difference. The big reward for winning is a change in the turn order. Sometimes that does come into play, and it's a lot of fun when it does! But my reward for getting first in a minigame being 6 keys and an item that is sometimes worse than second places really just makes the minigames feel like a fun, somewhat meaningless distraction from the boards. Even if the turns come into play often enough. And then the boards themselves are just okay. It doesn't feel like there's too much to do on them, but they can be fun, and there are more in the workshop. I wish there were more gimmicks in the boards, some stuff like shops and more event spaces would be fun. Most event spaces amount to "take damage" or "teleport to x area." But they're still fun to traverse. Overall, the big way to fix the game is pretty simple. I think allowing customization for minigame rewards make this turn into a positive review. There are tons of adjustments allowed in every other aspect, so it feels odd that we're limited in this specific aspect. Bravo to the team for making a game like this, I always want more Mario Party style games. And this one is over 8 years old, so I don't expect any big to fix my super niche grievances. Buy it if it's on sale and you want some silly minigames!
It will make you fight your friends. Literally you will be screaming and cursing at each other. And yeah, maybe that's a good game for some people. But not for me, I literally almost close the game like 4 times because hearing my friend tell me "Our friendship end today" or "You ♥♥♥♥*ng b*tch, I hate you so much. I've never liked you" made me feel so anxious, sad and wrong. It may be a good game, maybe even a great one, but if you have social anxiety or just anxiety in general I would not recommend it.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot dev made it so controller support doesnt ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work at all plug a controller in doestn work with none of the buttons mapped at all for every single one so i hope you like playing the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ai
Mario Party but with more copyright infringement.
Extremely fun with friends, great replayability. Although the game is pretty good by default still has so many customisation options, you dont have to stick with pre-defined rules, you can literally create your own rule set, save and share, etc. Even comes with a minigame + board creator if you are feeling creative. Also compatible with every single steam feature, provides everything that one can expect from a paid game.
W
