Psyvariar Delta

Absolutely love this. Old PS2 fav of mine, so happy to relive it. Only complaint is soundtrack dlc (bought) does not include medium unit or revision, but thas alrite PLS PSYVARIAR 2 REMAKE

I really hope they bring out Psyvariar 2 Delta or whatever subtitle they want to give it. There are simply not many shumps that emphasize the buzz/graze mechanic on the same level that Psyvariar does it. Very satisfying to keep leveling up with each successive buzz of the bullets (especially with controller vibration). Really shifts the focus of the game from just killing the enemies and avoiding bullets. The only downside I can think of is that the stages are very short, even for shmup standards and that the 3D backgrounds can look dated. But there are 18 stages to compensate for that (you wont see them all in the same run) and you won't be paying attention to the background much anyway.

3 versions of the game, 3 ships, 3 soundtracks. The 'Buzz' hi-risk/hi-reward mechanic is thrilling and addictive. A very nice package for a very good SHMUP by SUCCESS (Cotton series)

This game needs to be played with the Buzz System (graze system) in mind to get the most out of it. It has Score Attack mode for the online leaderboard. I thought Replay Mode+ is the game saving replay, but sadly no, it's another mode like stage select for scoring. Related to that, the game doesn't save replay so you have to record while playing. One issue I had is the game didn't recognize my gamepad if Steam controller config is on, so I had to turn off the setting in Steam properties and it worked fine.

I really like this game. Game Play: 5/5 Music: 5/5 Retro Arcade Graphics: 5/5 The only real complaint is I found this game really easy. I was able to clear every mode in 30 minutes first try. I just wish there was a little more push back. I'd say it's worth getting on sale if your a shoot em' up enthusiast.
