Psychonauts 2

This game is a near masterpiece and instantly catapulted its way into my top 10 of all time. I genuinely cannot overstate how near perfect almost all aspects of the game are in my opinion. The artstyle is a perfect evolution of the original while not getting bogged down in unnecessary realism. The platforming is much tighter than the original and while not at mario level of perfection it is more than satisfactory. The combat is much improved with a much greater emphasis on using your special abilities in battle that lead to some fun battles against sets of different mobs that demand a novel approach. The level design is where the game truly shines with some outstanding ideas tossed in these various worlds with a ton of flavour added to them to display the mind from which that world is born. That brings me to characters and the story which is the strongest aspect of the game. They tackle various mental health issues and depict how things can cascade from one inciting incident so effectively that the world and characters truly feel alive despite the intentionally absurdist character design. My only slight negative is that the denoument is slightly weak and short and relies on you running around the post climax world talking to characters. While these conversations are great, I would have preferred a more focused exploration of the fallout. To conclude this game is near perfect in my eyes and anyone with even a slight interest in platformers should play this (and the first before this).

Amei o game, foi um grande salto comparado ao primeiro. Tem uma boa plotwist na reta final da história. Gosto como eles criticam a parte da mente humana e deixam de uma forma mais interativa e divertida. Diverte demais, personagens continuam com o msm jeito engraçado de sempre, novos poderes, uma área de exploração maior. minha nota pro jogo é um 10/10. Simplesmente um jogo genial, espero que no futuro se fizerem um 3 jogo, quero que ultrapasse esse aqui, e isso. ABSOLUTE VIDEOGAME. Recomendadíssimo!!!

Fantastic game full of personality and creativity. I loved playing through it and at some point I wished it had an infinite number of levels because of how good it is. Visually it's a feast for the eyes, the art style combined with the surreal and psychedelic look of most levels makes you move the camera around in wonder every time you enter a new area. The gameplay is super smooth and during fights you can experiment with your powers to deal with the enemies in multiple ways. The story is also pretty good and the characters are all interesting and unique. It starts right at the end of the first one, so I'd recommend playing that one too, it's only 12-15 hours long and should be quite cheap now (even more on a sale). Don't miss this gem

You can tell that this game was made with a lot of love care and attention. Some moments are genuinely LoL with great humour, while others make you think deeply about the concepts deeply. Graphically it is stunning, gameplay wise it is up there with the best platformers ever made. I played the original one and loved it, this improves what made that game good in every single way. If you are playing on a big screen, or on a steam deck, this game is brilliant. solid 9.5/10 for me, I hope they are making a 3rd game!
