Psycho wolf is an indie stealth game, which draws inspiration for its unique graphic style from the first 3D games of mid 90's. Gameplay itself is the evolution of the best mechanics encountered in modern games.

Set in a medieval environment, Psycho wolf’s story revolves around a greedy wolf and his thirst for revenge. Although not yet complete, with quite a few issues, Psycho Wolf is shaping up to be a fine casual game with a lot of fun elements added to the mix. Plot: This is a tale of a greedy Wolf who cooked a batch of fake gold to trick the residents of the town into buying them? As the gold color starts to fade, the residents become outraged and demand the Wolf be caught and sent to jail. And so he is. After spending so long in jail, the wolf started devouring the fake bars. To his surprise, he became aggressive and strong, and managed to break free from the confines of the jail. Now he seeks revenge upon those who put him in jail. Gameplay: Psycho Wolf brings a simple yet fun gameplay style with its mouse left and right for camera turn, WASD movement control, Space to attack and I for inventory interaction. For the most part, Psycho Wolf’s basic controls work just fine, but in the long run, I feel that it lacks greater control over its main character. As the game is still in its very early stage, I am impressed at the direction the game is headed. The base concept is simple; find, follow, and kill the residents of the town, and while doing so, seek and kill selected targets from the mission tab, which also includes certain other tasks. As you find and creep up to your targets, each target will show how many hits they can take. Killing them looks easy, but it’s really not. Psycho Wolf is slow; hence you will have to time your movement just right to intersect the target. As the target sees you coming, or after the first blow, either they will attack head-on and will run after you or they will run for their life! You can also create and drop traps to intersect targets in-game from your inventory. The biggest downside to the game currently is the lack of content, features and key binds to control existing features. As the game seems to slowly progress, I hope these issues get resolved. Inventory and crafting system: The game is bringing in a simple inventory management system with hover over to pick up items by hitting ‘’I’’. Currently, the Inventory system only hosts a few items to carry, equip, and drop. Also, there is a simple crafting system with a few options. To craft something, you will need to gather selected items. Currently, there are a few options to craft, such as rope, cammo, bag, etc. World design: Simple, goofy, and cartoonish, with a colorful (but not too bright) selection from the color spectrum. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the world and the art style. I see a lot of room for growth. Music and sound effects: For the most part the sound effects are on par with the game and suits its theme just fine. But the music was poorly selected and got repetitive very fast. And the worst part is you cannot turn off the music without turning off the in-game volume. For the most part, I’m impressed at where the game is heading; the concept is interesting and the plot is fun! The game is obviously nowhere near completion, and I’m looking forward to future updates, which will hopefully bring much-needed fixes, content updates, new features, and a better control suite. Positives: + Fun plot + Decent gameplay + Interesting world design + Well-designed character and NPCs + Interesting features + Simple inventory and crafting system Negatives: - Cannot change key binds - Cannot turn off music without turning the volume off - Screen tearing - Quite a few bugs - No controls to use present features - Needs more content The Psycho Wolf is out for revenge. Help him get those who have wronged him; the wolf will not stop his terror for anyone. 6/10 Key provided by the developer/publisher for review purposes. Any opinions expressed are entirely my own!
Good game. It's a bit like "Don't starve". We play as a wolf, which destroys a village with a variety of animals. Crafting, cartoon graphics, nice music, small price.
The gameplay is level based and monotonous. its too easy to kite enemys, combat does not feel enjoyable and stealth just doesnt matter, theres very little to craft and half the things you can craft don't seem to do anything worthwhile. the visuals are alright, probably not to most peoples tastes though. I expected something a little darker and a bit gritty, but theres constantly stock music playing in the backround thats reminiscent of android shovelware. theres a few mechanics that seem to do nothing such as bagging corpses and the rage meter, which is basically a stamina bar. tho i have had negative rage before and nothing happened. Even though i only played the first 3 levels I dont wanna play anymore, first impressions are important and this left a sour taste in my mouth. Even though i will be refunding this game I wish the devs better luck on their next one.
It's a top down stealth game where you kill all the villagers without being caught. There's around 10 or so levels that pretty much are the exact same. There's not really anything else to the game. I mean, for $0.79 what did I expect? It's boring, almost no variation of anything, annoying music, items and menu do not like to work. Buy it if you want half hour of something monotonous to do, get bored, and never play it again.
Psycho Wolf is a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. This Nintendo Switch game is from the Polish developers at Hydragon, and takes the form of a 2.5D retro brawler that combines low poly 3D graphics with hand drawn/MS-Paint tier cartoony animal characters. This mission/level based hack and slash game has you running around various environments and slaughtering the cute inhabitants as things have obviously gone wrong in cartoon animal town. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets with 2D sprites for the characters and elements, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It looks bad as a result of their decisions, and that's just another reason to avoid it. The controls and game handling are notably very clunky and unsmooth here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing. They dropped the ball on this one. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Psycho Wolf has the comically over-optimistic price of around $8 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $8 asking price for this game could get you games like "Pillars of Eternity II", "Disco Elysium" or "Project Zomboid". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.
