Eternal Journey: New Atlantis

Allez, surprenante expérience pour moi qui ne suis pas adepte de Science Fiction et qui pensais plonger au coeur de l'Atlantide. Surprise mais finalement pas déçue. Bien ficelée, bien dosée, j'ai trouvé cette aventure rythmée comme il faut avec un mélange de puzzles, SOC (Scènes d'Objets Cachés) équilibrés et justes comme il faut. Bien heureuse d'avoir une map avec raccourcis car beaucoup de voyages d'une salle à l'autre mais qui restaient cela dit anticipables et compréhensibles. 2h environ / pas de chapitre bonus / pas de bug / pas de succès steam. Par contre je suis toujours en train d'essayer de comprendre pourquoi elle, pourquoi lui, ou encore le lien entre l'Atlantide et Mars un siècle plus tard...et pour finir comment on passe d'archéologue à ingénieur spatiale m'enfin...je suis tatillonne.

I kept staring at this game and wondering why in the hell do I even know what happened in it...? Even going as far as knowing what the ending was like...? That's because I accidentally played it in: "Hidden Object Bundle 4 in 1"... I apparently didn't notice I owned this game separately. Oopsie. Anyway, this was a good game. I dislike the Sci-Fi aspect of it. But that's just me and the most important part of it all? Was the cat. Really. When a cat is the savior... Hands down: Good game! :> :3 =)

Writing a review of this game some 9 years after launch is... tricky. The highest supported res is only 1600x1200, although there is widescreen support (yet oddly when recording the game, it only records at 4:3). Voice acting is prevalent throughout, this is however more often than not amateurish at best. There are no Steam nor ingame achievements, there are however collectables. These do serve purpose and add a little to the backstory and are worth searching for. In contrast to many more modern HOG's there is a vast number of areas/locations and sadly there is a LOT of going back and forth. Thankfully a map is provided which allows for fast travel between locations, use it or you'll end up getting lost (said map also marks locations will collectables). There are certain touches throughout the game where an effort to go above and beyond for the time (the game was made), most notably an animated cat that follows you around for a large part of the game... which makes for some mildly amusing moments (I'll not spoil any surprises, just keep an eye on and interact with him/her/it whenever you enter a new location). That said... few puzzles provide a challenge and the hidden object scenes are uninspired. Several scenes have to be played twice and each time the items located in the first play remain in the second... and that includes the item obtained from playing the scene the first time. Also objects are recycled through the scenes which is lazy and reduces the challenge. My biggest gripe is with the story which anyone with a basic understanding and interest in ancient cultures will find baffling and confusing... Let me just say Atlantis = Greek. Oh yes just in case anyone wondered, the majority of the game takes place in the 22nd Century... don't get me started on how you end up there, let's just say you, some random, gets the Walt Disney treatment. Buy on sale or in a bundle only. You don't often get a HOG set in a more futuristic space setting so this was a nice change up from the usual forests of most fantasy or medieval settings. Puzzles and HO scenes were decent with about the right level of challenge. Voice acting was good and there was a lot of animated cutscenes and background building video logs to find along the way. This game has a completely open map through the whole game which can cause some navigation issues trying to find your way back or figuring out where you need to go next, thankfully the quick travel map helps a lot with this so you aren’t revisiting the locations constantly trying to get to the right location. There is a hot moment where you get to see a character walk around in their underwear, so that is another reason to give this game a play. Also, you get to save a cute cat!

я в детстве в эту игру на ноутбуке, который еле работал поиграл, она мне емае как понравилась, я помню, как прямо таки чувствовал тот вайб хоррора, как я думал... Сейчас я её прошёл и ниче не понял, только две локации вспомнил. зато 10 лет поисков не прошли зря, теперь у меня остался только путь...

adoro, la storia non è troppo complicata da capire, l'unica pecca è che se sei un maniaco dell'ordine dovrai consultare la guida strategica ma per il resto 11/10

Eternal Journey es uno de los pocos juegos de objetos ocultos que se arriesga a contar una historia de ciencia ficción. Buena cinemática, buenos controles y una excelente ambientación. La recomiendo si quieres pasar un buen rato. No tiene extras, pero la búsqueda de objetos bonus lo compensa.

Gioco relativamente semplice e rilassante con una storia interessante. Grafica datata ma piacevole. Consigliato agli amanti del genere.

Good game, a little short (just under 3 hours) but the riddles are logical.

A nice mix of ancient and futuristic locations.
