Edit: Heard from the single developer and there are improvements and QOL coming. Looking forward to them. Rating: 6/10 — Incredible Premise, But a Frustrating Climb Zombus introduces a standout concept to the zombie survival genre: reaching and maintaining a truck that serves as your mobile base. While the "hook" is excellent, the current experience is a mix of high-potential ideas and significant early-access hurdles. The Pros: ~Unique Concept: The goal of securing a mobile truck base is a refreshing change from static base-building. ~Strong Atmosphere: The artwork is high quality, and the cool cityscape creates an immersive, gritty environment for survival. ~Solid Systems: The leveling system is rewarding, and the radio tutorials do a great job of guiding you through the early mechanics. The Cons: ~Struggling to Navigate: You are told to "go south," but you don't actually have a compass until you level up and spend points to unlock it. ~Movement & Progression Slump: Walking speed is very slow at the start (another unlockable), and you have to grind points just to find the truck that serves as the game's main draw. ~Punishing Difficulty: Forced permadeath is currently the only way to play, which can be a "big no" for many players. ~Technical Rough Edges: There is no list of control keys in the options menu, swimming mechanics feel clunky, and the environment becomes arguably too dark at night to see what you are doing. Verdict: There is a really fun game hidden inside Zombus, but in its current state, the price is a bit too high for the value provided. I would highly encourage players to wait for a sale or for the developers to add a few major quality-of-life updates—specifically a choice between permadeath and a standard respawn system. died and cant melee anymore. deleted and redownloaded the game and have reset about 5 times as well as verifying files and still no melee pls fix pretty fun Also not understanding how the zoms go from 1 hit to like 5 on the same day
I really love this game, but I have to apply for a refund. My English proficiency is limited, and I can’t understand a lot of the in-game content. I genuinely enjoy the game, and I sincerely hope the developer can add Chinese language support in future updates. Thank you very much!
