I give it a thumbs up, because for a thumbs down, it needs to have significant problems, which the game does not have. though, the only positive so far is, the game has an actual carreer mode with money. you can choose a sponsor, you have to buy your car, have to pay for entry fees, have to pay for repairs. (or your sponsor might pay for some expenses) but I wish the repairing would be detailed. as it is, you only have to pay a sum of money for repairs, but it doesn't tell you what needs to be repaired and you can't choose not to repair certain parts of the car. graphics are okay, sound is good, FFB is okay. the big downside to me, as I don't like reacing in multiplayer, is the AI. only positive about it is, that they weave behind you, looking ahead. negative is that they don't defend, they don't make any mistakes and they stay in one neat line in corners (which gives you big opportunities, to attack). but if you find yourself spinning out, you have lost the race. there is no way to catch up, because AI will never make a mistake themself. maybe it will get better. I don't know.
I got it for the career mode thats it really, was looking for a racing GT game that was just AC Its honestly its not that bad, some of the people who have made the tunes for the cars along with liveries and different styles of championships it and the devs updating slowly but listening to the community is good! Recommend starting out on lower difficulty to test out which cars you like along with different setups, make sure to change those tires from the setups if your on rain race, forgot to change tires and was wrecking ball into turn one. The updates keep coming and keep getting better!
The negative reviews arent all true, yes this game needs work but overall its actually pretty good.
I'm very new to racing sims, but have put in quite a few hours on sims after completing the crew motorfest, which was my gateway. Personally out of my steadily growing list of sim games, PMR is one of the few that you can just open and play, and it plays REALLY WELL. The sense of speed is awesome and I really enjoy the handling. I just wish more people were playing it online...
I just picked this up because they hired Aris and added experimental VR support (still very much wip, check the discord). First impressions are positive. The ffb feels unique amongst other sims and im digging it. the car and track selection is also quite good. the japanese gt 500 and mazda mx-5 were fun and engaging to drive. The AI seemed decent to good. Im not sure if its the track scans or the ffb but the track surface felt really nice to drive over. weight transfer in the ffb was also really noticeable. This game is quite ambitious in some of the details of what its doing. i think its worth checking out. I'm looking forward to playing some more and trying the career mode. why do no other sims have a career mode lol?
game is getting better with each patch still much to improve but I'm enjoying the single player
After update PMR is better. I have PMR and in the PS5Pro. Recommendet it.
Some big improvements
Despite all the things people say negative about this game I seem to enjoy it more than all the rest. It's hard to explain.
In its current state, version 2.0.0.3 I think the game overal is good. The cars drive nice, and the game has good FFB feeling, and the online driving has been fun for me. I like that the game is different than other sims, some differerent cars, and the options to fine tune the driving feeling for every car, under car setups. Nice options for custom HUD settings, and not that complicated to map the buttons. What I find mainly lacking some, is the look of the default colors, or contrast(have only played pc version), which looks washed out, with to much brightness, or gamma. There is no way to adjust color settings ingame, but can be "fixed" with reshade . Since I play on triple screen the game has not yet implemented proper angle adjustements. But overall a good game
