I hope they can turn this title around for everyone that spent money on it but there is no way I can recommend it in it's current state. The cars feel terrible, track selection is questionable, and there are some pretty standard features missing. If you're looking for excellent variety in content with great racing and value just buy AMS2 or RaceRoom. At least the console people have another option now, I guess.
Its come a long way and is really very good now. Give it a shot!
Coming from Sims like, iracing, AC, and LMU I am really enjoying this game. My favorite part is the Campaign mode it feels similar to F1 with less frills. But I enjoy the race focus content.
So much is still missing, after all this time and the reviews moving to mixed from crap i thought i'd give it a go but, having just suffered a crash while displaying the podium I thought i'd contribute a list of stuff that's still sub par. 1)It's crashy, still... 2)It stutters like no other sim on the same hardware. 2)You can set tripples resolution but have no real tripples support no monitor angles etc... 3)The tyre feedback is numb, but on most sims you can up the tyre volume to hear the slides, not in PMR! 4)The default menu up, down, left right is by default bound to something analogue on my wheel or pedals so you have to unbind it to stop the menu pinging about like crazy. 5)The AI is not bad other than for some reason it brakes way later when side by side, but wet weather AI is abysmal, I can go from being trounced in an MX5 race in the dry to lapping half the field in the wet at the same difficulty Ievel. 6)Engineer - "The car ahead is a lap down he will move off the racing line" AI - Proceeds to block into every corner for the next lap until i punt him into the scenery. 7)The price, even with a discount on the main game this should be at £25 including the dlc, it's not finished. Good things: 1)The trees change colour in autumn... seriously Lime Rock park red trees later in the season, the sort of messing about someone would do on a finished sim, not a stuttery mess but go Art department, I can see them now sat there latte in hand while the ship sinks around them, "Well we did our bit" Lets hope effort is put in to the right places.
THIS SH$t is not ready and should be taken back to the start and rebuild from ground up again.
It can become a good game, but the steering feels completely off, the feel of grip feels wrong, so it's a no for the moment. Too bad as i am looking forward for the career mode. But it doesn't feel fun to drive at this moment it's like you battle with the road.
this game has improved so much thank you devs
I have a AMD radeon RX 7900 XTX with a Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processer, since the last update the FPS an the graphics just don't work well, I've tried all kinds of setups but it just doesn't work
Unfairly and harshly critiqued early in its life cycle. the games pmr is compared to are all 10+ years old. i think the future is bright.
This does not categorize in sim. It's a poor game in it's current state. Driving is souless, has no character and the feeling is totally off. You can not put it in the same category as LMU, Assetto Corsa (EVO and Competizione included), AMS2, RF2, iRacing etc. Even it's predecessor Project CARS 1 and 2 are miles better (when they where released). I can not recomend it to a preson who likes forementioned sims. What makes it really bad is that shifting bug. Time to time it shifts some two or three gears while I try to shift. It just jumps to the first (in worst cases to neutral) or last gear. And I did calibrate and remaped all the controlls. Right now it's just a mess of a game. Hope they can get on top of things.
