Project Hunt

It's a fun hunting game. Not hard to figure out.

I love this game. The action is more fast paced than another hunting game I've played, and it's much more fun. I love how aggressive the animals are, and I love that the developer updates this game almost every day. Several times I've wanted to ask for a change to something, and it changed before I could ask.

its fun, lots of animals to find. the horse is good and a main reason i wanted to try this game, it would be nice to see the ai art be replaced with real human art eventually. and if the dev sees this, it would be cool to see okapis added since there is no representation of them in any hunting game.

Honestly pretty surprised this game isn't more popular. If you've ever wanted to toss a .308 downrange 800m into an ostrich's stomach, this is the game for you. I'm noticing that long distance shooting is sort of this game's bread and butter. The fonts/ ui is silly, there's some jankiness, but if you ignore the small stuff, this boils down to a fun arcade hunting game. I've put over 1k hours into COTW/ Hunter classsic/ WOTH1+2.. this game has an addicting aspect that those games sort of don't. The gameplay loop is to run around and hit vitals on animals. Selling carcasses to the rotating black market npcs is addicting. I'm motivated to save up for the .50 cal. There's bullet drop that is challenging because the scope's mil dots are insane. Hitscan bullets so there's no lead. .22 cal bullets drift outrageously to the wind and for some reason, they disappear after 50 meters..? not sure why. Max distance for bullet travel is about 1150m. Bullet drop is tied strictly to letter grade of the gun/bullet. Guns caliber is rated on an alphabetical scale (S, A+, A, B+, B.. etc.) and there's only a couple guns per letter grade. But the loop of unlocking higher tier animals and shooting rare variants is fun, for what it is. On each map 100 kills total unlocks all the animals and the animals also tier up during this.. and it happens quicker than you might think because you're sorta blasting everything. After that, total kill start going strictly to tier ups. It's mindless fun, and not as much a 'walking simulator' as the other hunting games. I think the best thing for this game would be to expand the gun selection and make it a shooting porn type of game. Just add all sorts of ♥♥♥♥. Also the maps aren't awful, except the first map which has a ten second ambient bird track that loops infinitely. There's little crazy ♥♥♥♥ in this game like that. More maps would be better, Kallisti the Mediterranean map is literally unplayable because it's all eye-level bushes and none of the animals are any taller.. Bizarre decision. This game reminds me of games in the early 2000s; there's just weird decisions and mechanics that can only be described as strange. Highly critical people would be annoyed by too many weird oversights in this game. Ultimately though this games like an 8/10, with WOTH1+2 and COTW being 9's. It's addicting.
