Good game, although many mechanics are not explained and I have the impression that they do not work properly.
This game is really good if you like management games, which I'm not a fan of. So even though I am not a person who likes management games or types of building games, I do enjoy this game. It just takes a bit to understand what you're supposed to do, and what everything does.
The various updates seem to have caused pretty severe problems with the campaign. I ran into issues on each of the first 3 chapters before giving up. This is after I played through the campaign with no issues in 2021. That being said, the sandbox/non-campaign side of the game seems to be mostly free of game breaking bugs and that part is still very enjoyable. It's a deceptively complex game, you can get pretty creative with how you design your prisons. If you don't mind skipping the campaign(which unfortunately also serves as the tutorial) then this game is well worth the money.
I like this game, but sometimes I feel overwhelmed lol. The tutorial could have been a little better, for example programs could have told me to have a job time, but I'm learning. Looking forward to playing in the sandbox with my perfectly well behaved prisoners and my smart workers who don't pile at a gate waiting for a guard while the other door is open.
Corporate greed has ruined Paradox. Go look at the new hairstyle DLC for CK3; $45 when entire Triple A games are selling for $60-$70... CK3 isn't worth $899 and neither is this game. I will not be buying Imperator Rome because we all know they will be releasing DLC at exorbitant rates just like everything Paradox. I will not be looking forward to a CK4, Vic4, IR, or HOI5... Goodbye Paradox, good luck with your greed
