When you get the hang of basic prison management this game is absolutely awesome. I love to play it and make different types of prisons in this game. And the escape feature is cool too. You can download prisons from the Steam workshop and try to escape them. Eventually this does feel repetitive. But you can impose you own rules to follow and challenge yourself.
FORMER MAYOR APPOINTED WARDEN; DISCOVERS PRISONERS EVEN HARDER TO MANAGE THAN VOTERS

Local correctional facility achieves record profits, impressive rehabilitation numbers, and an alarming amount of blood loss.
By The Metropolitan Mismanagement Times Following her controversial tenure as mayor, local official Sam accepted what many believed would be a quieter position as a prison warden. Those people were wrong. Government officials had hoped prison management would allow the former mayor to focus on organization, budgeting, and public safety. Instead, records indicate she spent the next several years overseeing a correctional facility where riots, gang violence, overdoses, escape attempts, murders, staff casualties, and catastrophic planning mistakes became routine administrative challenges. Despite this, the prison somehow remained profitable. Witnesses describe the institution as a bizarre contradiction. On paper, it was a model correctional facility featuring rehabilitation programs, educational opportunities, work placements, and advanced technology. In reality, many inmates described the prison as "surprisingly nice, except for all the dying." Internal reports reveal that the warden began with almost no money and slowly expanded the facility into a sprawling prison complex housing hundreds of inmates. Along the way she developed a reputation for aggressively pursuing rehabilitation while simultaneously creating conditions that occasionally resembled a low-budget action movie. "She genuinely wants us to succeed," said one former inmate. "Unfortunately she also accidentally built three rival gangs into the same cell block." Sources confirm the prison's medical staff spent much of their careers sprinting between overdoses, gang fights, stabbings, escape attempts, and incidents categorized in official reports as 'preventable in hindsight.' The prison's janitorial staff declined requests for comment but reportedly requested hazard pay. Security personnel also described a workplace culture centered around discovering contraband. "Most wardens review policy reports," said one exhausted guard. "She sees a spoon in a prisoner's pocket and suddenly it's the most important investigation in the country." Financial auditors remain baffled by the operation. Despite frequent emergencies, damaged property, lawsuits, riots, and enough blood to concern several cleaning companies, the prison continued generating significant profits. One auditor described the facility as "an economic miracle wrapped inside a management disaster." Former employees recall that every shift carried a sense of uncertainty. "Sometimes you'd arrive and everything was running perfectly," said one guard. "Other days the power failed, two gangs started a war, someone overdosed in the laundry room, three prisoners escaped through a tunnel, and the warden was redesigning the visitation wing because she thought it looked nicer." Perhaps most remarkably, the prison achieved strong rehabilitation outcomes despite the constant chaos. Researchers studying the facility have struggled to explain how a prison that appeared to be one bad decision away from collapse managed to successfully reform large numbers of inmates. "It shouldn't work," said one criminologist. "Every rule we have says it shouldn't work." At press time, the prison remained operational despite repeated predictions of its imminent collapse. Staff described conditions as "concerning but familiar." After reviewing financial records, incident reports, rehabilitation statistics, riot footage, emergency response logs, and approximately 350 hours of security camera footage, The Metropolitan Mismanagement Times has reached the following conclusion: Most wardens try to run a safe prison. Warden Sam accidentally built a maximum-security soap opera. Against all logic, it turned a profit.
