Takes about 45 minutes to complete, it's like an interactive story for kids, had a few charming moments with animation & narrative, but otherwise a very basic experience, not much else to do in terms of gameplay, although there was an optional achievement so I had to replay it once when I missed it. Princess Ursula is looking for a husband, but as you talk to the people in the village, she is a bit... special, and nobody wants to marry her. You will play the game from a perspective of two characters, a prince that wants a beautiful bride, and a hungry peasant that dreams of having a great meal. As you can see from the trailer the game is literally hand made, with the 2D cut outs making up the scenery which is something we occasionally see in the medium (Papetura comes to mind), gives the game an unusual feel, but very pretty overall, I wish there was more exploration, I especially liked the bed animations. I played a number of similar games on Steam, and generally I think you should try to add more optional exploration into them, such as having those optional achievements and interactions so you can make the player go - "what if I do this though". And you see I tried being "patient" for example at that part, thought it might do something, and I think as a developer you should try to reward that kind of behavior, otherwise I feel disappointed when I try something and nothing happens.
Pros:
(+) Had some funny animations/interactions, I thought the story was charming, but it's pretty much the entire experience, pretty drawings and a few silly moments.
Feedback:
- I would encourage you to add more optional achievements/interactions if you make another one, try to reward players when they experiment/explore environment, maybe having alternate endings if you were patient at that part, things like that. Overall the game was a little too short, I think you should at least aim for 90 minutes, this one felt like 45 to me, and even that is if you take your time with it. - It's important to make sure F12 works in your game for screenshots, otherwise you can't share your experience with your feed on steam, less likely for the game to be noticed. Overall Thoughts: 6/10 Nothing wrong with the game really, it's just a small and cute experience. However I think there are so many games that do what you do on a bigger scale, and do it with a lot more things that can catch your attention and keep you in the world for longer to make it more memorable, so I would recommend at the minimum that you design the game with more optional interactions and achievements that would let you explore the scenery more, and get rewarded for doing so. Sweet little short tale without too much explanation. The animation and the music are sweet, so it was a cute experience, but the price... The game is like 20 min long, there are free PnC games that are longer than that. So buy it at a deep discount. J'ai passé un bon moment devant cette histoire, mais vraiment, pour le prix, ce fut vraiment... court. et j'ai pris mon temps pourtant, j'ai même été me faire un café, mais c'était très court. Mais chouette quand même :)
Short and sweet. (About a half hour in length.) The animations are amazing--loved interacting with everything on screen to see what would happen. The hand-made cut paper designs give the environments and characters a lot of personality. The dialogue is cute and funny. Would love to see more short story games in this style in the future.
