Players step into the role of a seasoned master hunter who reunites with his childhood friend Maria, only to be drawn into a greater mystery surrounding the Southlands. As they venture deeper, hidden truths about the world and their past begin to unfold. The game prioritizes character-driven storytelling and romance, offering players a deeply engaging experience centered around relationship dynamics and narrative choices.

[th]🎮Gameplay:[/th]

🌍 Exploration & Narrative Progression: Travel across the Southlands, encountering remnants of a lost civilization, dangerous monsters, and shifting political landscapes. 🏹 Choice-Driven Romance: Maria remains the protagonist's primary love interest, but players can invite other women into their relationship, influencing emotional depth and character dynamics. 📜 Branching Choices with a Linear Core: While some decisions impact character interactions, the main story follows a mostly linear structure. 🗡️ Medieval Politics & Intrigue: Navigate the tensions between different factions, uncovering the truth behind the Southlands’ abandonment and your own role in its fate. 💞 Slow-Burn Romantic Development: Relationships evolve naturally over time, emphasizing emotional connections before leading into erotic content.

[th]📖Story and Depth:[/th]

The game excels in storytelling, focusing on an immersive medieval setting where characters are shaped by their pasts and decisions. Maria serves as the protagonist’s anchor, with optional partners adding complexity to the relationship dynamics. As secrets of the Southlands are unveiled, players must decide how to handle alliances, betrayals, and their own desires, making every interaction meaningful.

[th]🏆Verdict:[/th]

I really enjoyed this game, as it includes almost everything I look for in a good AVN. Naturally, the fact that the first erotic scenes appear quite late makes it clear that sex is not the main focus of the game. Instead, it prioritizes its story and some interesting choices. The worldbuilding is also well-crafted, adding layers of intrigue as the protagonist uncovers the secrets of the Southlands. However, I did notice that certain choices feel somewhat predetermined, making them impossible to refuse. This occasionally gives the impression of being guided along a set path rather than allowing for complete player agency. While this doesn’t ruin the experience, it does lessen the impact of certain choices, making them feel more like scripted events rather than player-driven decisions. Overall, *Price of Power* is an excellent choice for those who appreciate immersive storytelling and rich character interactions in an adult visual novel. While the pacing may be slow for players expecting immediate action, those who enjoy a well-developed narrative will find plenty to appreciate. The game succeeds in delivering an emotional and engaging experience, even if some choices could offer more flexibility.

[th]✅Good:[/th]

👍 Rich storytelling with deep character development. 👍 Beautifully detailed 3D-rendered visuals and immersive medieval setting. 👍 Strong romance mechanics with meaningful relationship growth. 👍 Choices impact the narrative in significant ways, even if some feel predetermined. 👍 Moderate replay value, as player decisions affect relationship dynamics.

[th]🛠️Ways of Improvement:[/th]

👎 Some choices feel predetermined, limiting the sense of player agency. 👎 Pacing issues in early chapters—could benefit from trimming exposition. 👎 More CG variety in romance scenes for better visual storytelling. 👎 Additional interactions with side characters would enhance world depth.

"At the cost of a having a bit of trouble walking in the morning, after dozens of overnight orgasms....well I'm sure all men can pay that PRICE for this POWER!" - Renders: gorgeous, photogenic. - Animations: simple, yet beautiful. - Story: the main focus, and the strongest aspect of this game. - Choices: are present, mainly relating to the love interests. - Length: well over 20-25 hours (more for alternate routes). - Gallery: available at the end of the game, separate gallery for each route. - Soundtracks: quite a few, fitting to the theme and the tension when it arises. - Achievements: available and all work perfectly. The story is the focal point in Price of Power, and it's evident from start to finish. We begin our journey in what appears to be a medieval era, with the MC being a 25 year old male with no ambitions, having a mundane life. Suddenly his childhood friend Maria shows up, and rekindles their friendship, as well as mutual attraction for one another. Their feelings and flirting must be put on hold, because her uncle who is now the Lord Explorer, asks you to join them on the expedition into the Southlands. Where the people of your island have not dared to go before, and a place where your government banishes its criminals to. Not willing to let go of this chance to be with the woman of your dreams, the MC sets off to explore the unknown and uncover its mysteries after The Fall. Along their journey, the characters will encounter survivors both native to the Southlands, and those banished from the island. Fight off mutated creatures and raiders, face tough losses, uncover the mystery of The Fall, and bring to light the darkest secrets of their current society. All while never missing a moment to grow closer together, share intimate moments, and forge a new future for themselves and those around them. The gameplay is quite simple, while there are choices such as: naming the characters, choosing which enhancements the main character focuses on, and some light story choices. Few of these have a significant impact on the overall flow of the game. The choices that do have the most impact would be; focusing on one woman only as a love interest, a throuple, or a harem. As you settle in on a path of how many women you want to sleep with, then all the other choices seem arbitrary. You spend the majority of gameplay on reading the well crafted story, a world of science fiction after the apocalypse, and how different groups survived in it. Our MC eventually gets integrated with artificial intelligence from before the end of the world, and with the help of said AI's you then navigate whatever troubles come your way. From overpowering your enemies, reading powerpoint presentations by the AI to help you understand things, to healing a man made plague. All while making sure to keep the women in your life safe and satisfied. The conclusion I've come to after completing Price of Power is hard to put into words. I'll try to break it down though. The beginning with the MC having no ambition, was not inspiring. However with the introduction of Maria, and later Emilia, I was captivated, and couldn't stop reading for some time. Then it clicked, that if us men are left alone, we will need very little to get by, it's the women in our lives that drive us to do great deeds and inspire us to become better. A noble point of view, one that I had hoped to see, unfortunately, the MC from start to finish shows zero growth as a character. Maria gives several grand speeches, which grip at the heartstrings and the MC can just say: "I love you" in return. Out of all the characters, the one who changes and shows honest progression the most is Emilia, her character growth overshadows everyone else. In fact even at the end the MC is the same as he was at the start before meeting the women and going on his adventures. I think this is what mostly disappointed me in this title. That and in the later half of this AVN, the writing seemed to take a nosedive. What I mean is that it became full of mistakes, inconsistencies, and what felt like laziness. In 2 renders our characters went from day to evening, to night to next day. Nitpicking aside, it was an overall interesting experience. Full of beautiful renders, simple and smooth sexual animations and gorgeous women. Honestly I could take screenshots of every render and never have enough, they were all so photogenic. That being said, it's strange that each path has its own gallery, and to see them all you will need to complete all three paths. However it is a good read, albeit quite simple and feels rushed towards the end. Overall a great experience, and with epilogues on the way, don't miss out on this title! I don't know where to start. Read that this took the dev 4 years to complete. I like the setting and idea but I noticed something was very wrong quickly. The meaning/endless chunks of text that talk about everything but nothing. The "hack attempt" on the narration that leads to 3 seperate entities, AS THE TEXT CONTENT ISN'T ENOUGH ALREADY. I've read through multiple stories but they had meaning, purpose and direction. Furthermore when you get to branching options early game, some choices are just for show. When the dev enlighten you about that, just a bad sense of humor, and you get to the next branching with one working choice, the dev insults the player with a language foreign for the my little pony story the game wants you to belive you are in. Pros Good art An attempt of music Cons Worst animations of a game I've seen so far, unnatural and clunky Very short animations and no angles choices Clunky text without meaning, like a school essay that must be 1500 words when you got 300 Branching doesn't seem to lead anywhere dramaticaly different No options in animation No options before animations ***SPOLIER*** If the dev wanted a harem route, why choose such a lame distrobution for the cure? Why not use the opportunity to make it a body fluid one and the festivities can begin for real. The AI even warns the MC of sharing his fluids in the begining. Very unlogical route to take in a novel game, how soft core you try to push it. A BIG missed opportunity indeed!

**WARNING** Spoilers ahead!!! Ummm... yeah... I still cant recommend it. This story had the ability to be AWESOME but fell flat on its face too many times to get a thumbs up, even after 2 of the epilogues. I had 60+ hours in it because i was playing while working so I kept taking long breaks while i left the story open and then went back to play the other two paths, hoping it would get better.... it didnt. The epilogues were VERY short, and did nothing to expand on the story or create some sense of how the new colony was handling any issues that would most certainly arise from this situation. The first is called "the cure for everyone" yet gives no explanation of anything beyond the 12 hour process needed to cure two of the women in your "harem" and then have sex with each. No details about if it worked or how other women in the remnants reacted... NOTHING! and the sex scene was so quick and boring, it might as well have not even existed. The second is called "watersports" and just has you run on water with AI help. it was about 50 or 60 slides and was completely a waste of time. The developers keep letting me down. The first half of this visual novel was well set up and made it look like it was gonna be an amazing story. The first 5 chapters seemed very rushed and easily anticipated but i was okay with it cuz the characters were interesting. The middle got better and even had the "ok who stabbed us in the back" intrigue for a great story. So many things foreshadowing events to show added to the intrigue. After they returned to the island, everything went to hell. Almost one of the foreshadowing was mentioned or realized by the characters not to mention that poor decisions in writing led to gaping holes that were never resolved. The ending was slapped together so quickly that they didnt even address half of the aftermath that would need to be resolved. Such as ... -What is the outcome of the inquisitors being on an obvious mission to kill your entire group? The "church" would never allow this group to survive after the cure was given out so how long would it take them to wipe out the community or kill the main 3 people and simply take the remaining women as hostages or slaves and force them to work to recover the iron and other resources that they needed. -How are you going to teach the Remnants about smithing, masonry and other essential crafts when you yourself dont have those skills? -Since the plague is spread in water, how are you going to get rid of the virus from all your water sources so it doesnt reinfect everyone you cured? And thats just the tip of the iceberg!! They brought too few characters in the story and the characters that were introduced either died before the end of that scene or became main characters but were thrown into roles so quickly that it was barely discussed, let alone agreed to by the MC, such as the two women being added to the harem. Speaking of the Harem... I know the writers said the story was a slow burn of romance rather than quick and easy lewd scenes, but dear lord.... The scenes were so badly done that they should have just been left out of the story completely. You have three paths to chose from.... a single partner, a throuple and a four woman harem. if you chose the harem, you get 5 or 6 scenes with the main woman, 3 with the secondary woman and 1 scene with the two extra. The throuple version gives that 1 extra scene to the second woman and the single partner path gets all scenes to herself. All of the scenes are very rushed and not at all interesting or stimulating. Five or six quick taps of the space bar got you through 75% of the lewd scenes and they had ZERO intrigue or excitement involved. Like it was written by a virgin that had never seen a nude woman, let alone actually been with one. They attempt to make one of the women submissive but the most submissive thing she asks for it to "pull my hair just hard enough to show me you're in charge" even though she said she asked the AI for ideas in the bedroom. Needless to say, the idea was great but after about halfway through the story, it all fell apart and was very poorly done. The two epilogues were a waste of time and needless to say, I wont bother opening the other three. As far as Im concerned, the story is over.
Price of Power is one of the better AVNs I've played. It is part of a growing group of games that I define as erotica, focusing on quality storytelling and character development with sexual relations as a natural and accepted part of those characters' lives. Kudos and thanks to the developers and writers of Price of Power and similar games for giving players like me a welcome and satisfying alternative to the too often trite material offered by so many AVNs. Female characters are gorgeous, competent and strong in their own right. Too, the development of polyamorous relationships is handled in a realistic and sophisticated way - with those relationships developing organically over the course of the story. The MC is intelligent, competent and respectful of those he cares about - not the stereotypical hormone-crazed college/recently graduated bumbling male of so many AVNs.
I had to delete it and move on. I don't mind a great VN, i dont need the adult content, but this story is clearly just another simp and feminist trope in a medieval setting, no thanks.
I really enjoyed this one. I enjoyed the story and how the adult content isn't just about having nudity on the screen. It fits the story and not in a way that it's just an adult game that happens to have a story, or in a way that it's just trying to make sense for the nudity to be there. It's a story about adults being adults and all the trials and tribulations that come with it. It handles everything in a way that feels..real to me. So yeah, if you like really good writing, good visuals, good characters then, yeah. Check this one out.
剧情方面的佳作,特别是跟青梅竹马的感情戏,写的非常细腻,非常甜 缺点 建模一般 后面加入的后宫戏跟前面爱的死去活来的青梅竹马戏很割裂 总结值得一玩的佳作
Spoiler free review. I would rate this game as pretty good. Not the best but not the worst maybe a 7 or 8 out of 10 for me. The good : - Render quality is really good. - Characters feel real and interesting. - Story is really good and interesting. - Subverts your expectations in a good way, I thought this was gonna be something completely different initially. - Its a full game with a full story and ending so no need to wait 10 years and go through X amount of seasons to have the full story. The mid : - The available girls are really high quality but there aren't many girls, you essentially have 1 main girl, 1 secondary girl and 2 other possible add-ons, all but the main girl also come in pretty late in the story. - There's a character, without going into spoilers, you will see initially as a narrative entity, feels oft putting to see him really early in the game when you don't really understand what is going on yet, eventually you will understand and he's a really good character but I feel like it was a mistake introducing him too early and would've been better to introduce him later when its actually relevant to the plot. The bad : Some parts feel a bit drawn out and could be shorter. Animations are pretty few and they are not great.
