Сама концепция игры выстраивается в 10-минутный ролик с метаиронией в духе треш-фильмов наподобие Очень страшного кино, но с цельным нарративом, из-за уровня постановки и гэгов превращающийся в мем ещё на старте. Вот к вам врывается друг, предупреждая об опасности и необходимости жать кнопки. Тут же он сам не успевает нажать и погибает. Тогда вам приходится спасаться и нажимать кнопки самому, принимая новое устройство мира как должное. Press X to Not Die is one of those FMV indie games that fully embraces the idea of “so bad it’s good” and turns it into its entire identity. The premise is exactly what the title suggests - you are constantly being thrown into ridiculous situations where the game literally screams at you to press a button or die. And then it proceeds to punish you in the most over-the-top, intentionally goofy ways imaginable. The gameplay is built around quick time events and simple choices, but the real entertainment comes from how absurd everything is. Characters deliver their lines like they’re in a low-budget B-movie, the situations escalate for no reason at all, and even failing events often leads to hilariously exaggerated death scenes. It’s chaotic, dumb, and self-aware in a way that makes it hard not to laugh. What really sells it is the tone. The game knows exactly what it is and never tries to pretend otherwise. Instead of being polished or serious, it leans into the awkward acting, weird writing, and ridiculous scenarios, which ends up making the whole experience more fun than it has any right to be. It's a fine little FMV game takes about 30 mins to finish. Would really have loved a higer FOV as the completely zoomed in angle gets really tiring to look at even at just 30 minutes. for 50 cents on sale it's hard to complain though.
