nah man this aint it
A textbook case of wasted potential. The post-apocalyptic setting and concept had promise, but it's dragged down by clunky controls, terrible voice acting, and a boring, repetitive gameplay loop. It feels like a dated asset flip that never got the polish it desperately needed. The story tries to be deep but ends up being forgettable. A slog that's hard to recommend even for genre die-hards.
It'a alright. The game starts strong and have a decent ending, but the middle is dull.
Akcja przenosi nas do Paryża lat dwudziestych XX wieku, czyli w okres największej rewolucji kulturalnej, kiedy to nowe odkrycia naukowe zaczęły wypierać magię i okultyzm. Jest to przygodówka detektywistczna point and click.
Just completed Still Life 1 which I generally speaking liked and thought to try this. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game can be bad. First thing that many will hate for sure is the fact that it's essentially FPS game bit like Myst etc. I personally dislike those a lot, but here I could live with the change. But I absolutely couldn't with _the worst_ dialogue I've ever seen in any adventure game. It's filled with short phrases and my god the context. It's so bad that it's downright hilarious. Results can be something that doesn't make any sense at all. Check out some vids about the start. Things can play like Client "Are you available for detective work?" You: "No I don't do that anymore, but come inside" Client "I'll pay you" You "I'm available. Who has been murdered?" Client "My sister" You "That's enough information" Client "I don't want police to know" And you'll essentially run to police station and tell everything about the client to first badly written cop character you see. I read somewhere that the dialogue system should be somehow adaptive or something, but it's a joke. Plus the worst part is that game seems to be 90% about dialogue, which all seems to be garbage from what I looked on after playing hour or two. I literally couldn't stand it anymore. Oh yeah and there's like two simple short musical scores that repeat constantly. Oh and how did I almost forget to the absolute worst part. That is that even in my short run I could ask stuff I didn't have a clue about from bunch of characters and then hear like 10mins later hear/read etc. the real context and get that "Oh now I get why he said that name". So the dialogue scripting is very broken too. My Still Life review said that absolutely try at least from deep sale as title can be got for almost free. This one? Save time and don't play it even if you'd get it for free.
HATE the drawing the suspect ''puzzle'' and hate the holding a candle in front of that stupid painting puzzle even more. But damn that sweet noir, occult atmosphere draws you in so hard you can't help but fall in love with it.
La trama es muy interesante
Post Mortem I enjoyed this so much that I actually finished it before another game i was playing at the moment — which says a lot. The story is excellent, with a solid investigative core and an engaging plot that genuinely makes you want to replay dialogues just to explore different conversational outcomes. It respects the player’s curiosity and rewards attention. Yes, the graphics are very dated, and you definitely need patience to run and play a game this old. The pacing and mechanics clearly belong to another era. But honestly? It was worth it. And surprisingly — something that is rare in this genre — I loved the ending. I’m currently replaying games from my adolescence, and this was a genuinely good reunion. Score: 6.5/10
