"Post-Apo Builder: Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Post-Apo Builder". Post-Apo Builder is n't even released yet... and despite not having made any complete games, the developer is advertising FOUR different games... now does anyone believe these guys came out of nowhere and are ready to develop and launch four separate games all at the same time? If you believe that, well, I have a bridge to sell you. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Post-Apo Builder, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Post-Apo Builder: Prologue" too. This looks unsurprisingly like a collection of Unity assets and a basic "tycoon" game template... it's an unpolished and incomplete mess. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Due to the 2024 FTC ruling (16 CFR Part 465), these fake reviews are a violation of US Federal Law.
Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.

A solid post-apocalyptic city builder where you restore society through resource management, construction, and survival strategy. The visuals are strong, though some mechanics and UI need polish. - Rating: 7/10 – Engaging concept with a few rough edges. - Video Gameplay - https://youtu.be/58palHOzIAo - Follow my curator page - https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45547027/

After spending some more time playing the game, I feel I needed to update my review. My original (very basic) review is quoted at the bottom of this update. I think the game has oodles of potential. I enjoyed the concept, style, pace and generally enjoyed the demo. But I wanted to change my review after spending a little more time playing. I am like a cat entertained by a bloody laser pointer, or a dog chasing its tail. I enjoy almost anything but I understand many do not, and I feel the majority would dislike the following things: 1) I feel like the game could get incredibly repetitive and boring for most players quite quickly. 2) I felt like there was a LOT of essentially (dead time) during game play where you're essentially just waiting for certain tasks to complete - this also compounds with the limited unique tasks available which may also bore many players quite quickly. 3) At least in the DEMO, options to change various settings were extremely limited. I'd assume this would change with the full version, but I do not know. For someone like myself with visual impairment issues, I found the options provided insufficient. Personally, I plan to give the released version a couple months to settle in and see where the development goes, and then purchase the released version to give it a solid try as I generally enjoyed the game. Which is why I ultimately decided to recommend the game to others. But if you are particular, have high expectations, or are on an extremely limited budget I HIGHLY RECOMMEND playing the demo in its entirety (or at the very least watch some solid live game streams) before finalising your decision to purchase as you may be disappointed. The game is currently priced extremely fair in my opinion. I really hope reviewers keep that in mind when writing their reviews. ORIGINAL REVIEW: "Played the demo.... really enjoyed the game. Pretty chill experience."
