Portal 2

I know this is a short and sweet raindrop in the ocean of positive reception, but Portal 2 is a masterpiece and stands as being an iconic piece of American art, encouraging its player to think within abstract parameters that leave an enlightened impression; thinking with portals is both edifying and it encourages the mind to be playful and imaginative with problem solving, both alone with a marvelous campaign, and with others in collaborative experiments that build trust and communication (Or hilarious executions that end with one or both of you blowing up.). And both are aided by the voice acting and humor, which are timeless in the same way the films of the Disney Renaissance are, and if you could translate it to film, it would fit comfortably within a Pixar classic list. Too, the world and story are reminiscent of a post-Frutiger aesthetic, and I would argue that resonates with the tonal shifts that were happening in technology spheres at the time and how people's minds were changing about computers and machines as a whole. You also have the level editor, meaning you have a virtually endless trove of puzzles to solve or ideas you can put into practice. Portal 2 shares both an accessibility for anyone and a respect for those who should exercise curiosity and intelligence within the sphere of problem solving. If nothing else it will teach you to think outside the box in such an elegant way that it will leave a lasting impact on your mind. For these reasons, Portal 2 is, and I believe forever will be, a true masterpiece.
