Pretty decent game with satysfying combat, best to play with a friend on splitscreen.
Poly Duels is an asset flip. It's a 3D rendered low poly "fighting" game slapped together badly with Synty asset packs. It's clunky, unpolished, and seems to have been rushed out as a cash grab so the developer can get paid for Synty's assets. On the plus side this isn't a complete 1:1 asset flip as there's a couple of different arenas and combat modes, but that doesn't change the somewhat insincere nature of the game. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" Synty assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The game contains stock/store assets and other packages (chiefly the Synty low poly assets), but the "developer" here hasn't credited the people who actually did the work for the game. While this isn't necessarily against the license for the use of those assets, claiming the work of others as your own is highly unethical. Gamers should be made aware when a developer behaves unethically, as buying games from unethical developers puts the gamers money at risk. Poly Duels is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
i had lots of fun playing this, rly cool combat that rewards you for playing well and timing your parring perfctly. Don't get discouraged by the low poly graphics :P #betterthanmortalcombat
Good game. Interesting character's skill sets and rewarding combat. I played on both configurations (mouse+ keyboard and gamepad) and I highly recommend gamepad.
Changed the review from negative to positive, since the developer fixed the broken hitboxes & achievements with latest update. Thanks for that ! This indie-for-honor-budget-version plays wonderfully now. Decent roster with easy & straightforward inputs , 2 unique skills (per character) that are great for mixups & nice stamina management. I enjoyed playing even vs AI ,worth mentioning it supports online as well as remote play. Latest update also added a new character and map alongside bug fixes so that was a nice surprise, i ll be coming back to this from time to time !
Fun little game with a surprisingly deep combat system. Aesthetically pleasing and is best played with someone else on a split-screen. Supports 21:9 ultrawide display.
My favourite game to play during the break.
I like low poly and this combat system. The best imo is playing with friends on split screen and of course with pads :) Go get this game to beat someone's ass!
