A classic, arcade scroll shooter that's been remade and looks even more beautiful in its unique art style and not to mention the fast paced, challenging gameplay that I remember. However, the later levels need retuning. Those levels are extremely padded out and the boss fights take forever and if you don't have a power-up, good luck surviving whilst trying to dodge a lot of projectiles.
It’s a really fun shmup. Controls are tight. There’s a nice variety of enemies and weapons. I just love claymation here and the amount of detail (enemies destruction process, debris that falls into the water has splashes, the backgrounds!). Music is a bit hit or miss but overall fits the game. The only “issue” that comes to my mind is that on some levels enemies can blend a bit with a background making them harder to spot but nothing truly annoying. The Game works great both on PC and Steam Deck I finished the story and now I’m having fun unlocking achievements and beating my highscores. I really recommend this one as it feels like games I played 30 years ago but upgraded to modern standards.
One of my favorite childhood game, playing with my parents back in the old days, airplane pewpew
Classic
As a childhood fan of original platypus game, i have no regret to bought the reclayed series.
Was so excited to learn from my brother that this game was available to play again. I used to play this at my grandmother's house, which we'd only visit 2, maybe 3 times a year. It holds a special place in my heart as it is connected to memories of my grandparents, their home, spending time with cousins, and of course, playing some Platypus. Such a fun game, even though I still die too much on easy difficulty. :)
Super!
i missed that game, glad that they reclayed it :)
I don't think a lot of people actually know this, but this OG game got the best remake one ever! Like new content and we get to see how they made it in the first place too. This without the doubt another OG game that's succesful in their remaking it AND underated too. Nonetheless, BEST OF THE BEST one so far. Miss playing this game when I was so young too, when GameHouse is still a thing lol.
