About
In Planet Lander, you take control of a spacecraft and traverse treacherous galactic caves on distant planets in search of the elusive landing platform. What starts as an easy cruise through open spaces soon transforms into a test of your piloting skills as narrow paths, dangerous laser turrets, and drifting space debris stand between you and your destination.
Inspired by the classic Lunar Lander, Planet Lander adds a modern twist with more intricate challenges and a competitive edge. Manage your fuel wisely as you rotate and thrust your way through increasingly tight passages. Each mistake, whether it’s colliding with a cave wall or getting caught by a laser beam, could be your last.
With obstacles like turrets that fire deadly lasers and debris that move in predictable yet perilous patterns, each level introduces new layers of difficulty. Later stages grow longer and more complex, forcing you to strategically collect fuel barrels to ensure your survival. If you run out of fuel or crash, it's game over.
Features:
Skill-based gameplay: Master the art of thrusting and rotating to avoid walls, lasers, and space debris.
Challenging levels: From wide-open areas to tight, dangerous caverns, each level pushes your piloting precision to the limit.
Fuel management: Collect floating barrels to keep your ship powered up through the more demanding stages.
Laser turrets and space debris: Avoid different types of laser turrets and maneuver around moving obstacles with care.
Online leaderboards: Compete against others and see how your best times stack up on global leaderboards.
Cloud saves and achievements: Progress is saved in the cloud, and each level completed unlocks an achievement with a total of 21 to collect.
Will you land safely, or will the galaxy claim another ship? Test your skills in Planet Lander and aim for the top of the leaderboards!

struggling against gravity in a dull world. In Planet Lander you have to manoeuvre a rocket aircraft through a narrow cave by carefully use your engine to avoid all walls, lasers and floating rocks. While the principle is fun to do (the sort of game you get better by experience, and a bit of luck), the graphics of the environment is too simple. It's simply a texture cut out. The music is okay for a while.
Short game of not hitting the walls with a spacecraft
Free version available on NewGrounds This is a very brief moon lander style game but lacking many of the expected features of such games. You fly a spacecraft through caves, littered with three types of enemies (turrets, periodic lasers, and asteroids) and try to reach the end. The landing is automatic - there's no need for positioning and/or soft landing. The background and wall colors are different in each level. Unfortunately, in some levels they are close to each other, which can be a source of accidental death and annoyance, despite the generous hit boxes. See the store's screenshots and my screenshots below for examples. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2165373672 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2166284401 Controls are slick with WASD or arrows, or gamepad. 'R' restarts a level quickly, though death triggers it eventually. Music is pretty sweet and carries through the game's short length. The levels (21 of them) are quickly flown through - about 15 minutes and half a dozen deaths for me. I think it was pretty easy but your mileage may vary. One achievement is rewarded per level but the game is profile limited currently. There's a level selection screen, and fastest times are saved in Steam Leaderboards for the speed runners out there.
Aside from being short, I liked it
Steam version is smoother than the free version but does not offer much more: just (so far profile-limited) cheevos and leaderboards. Otherwise, the two versions are identical. ~Twistorian Curator~
Gravity is a b**ch!
Planet Lander is a free game, but not if you're on Steam, because the unethical developer is trying to scam Steam gamers into paying money for a free product (they give this away for free on Itch). This simple, shallow, mobile-like game is a simple 2D level/maze negotiation game with Asteroids/SpaceWar! 2D flight physics, although parts of the game are rendered (badly) in 3D. It's a very basic shallow experience that feels more like a student project than a serious, genuine attempt at making a game, and this shallow, valueless nature of the game aligns with the developers intention to scam and defraud PC gamers on Steam. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Unethically, the developers are trying to charge money on Steam for a game that they give away for free on Itch. This is a deliberate attempt to gouge Steam gamers for a free product, and shows particular scorn and disrespect for Steam gamers for this lousy browser game. To double down on this unethical attempt to dupe gamers into paying for something available for free, they also dumped this into cheap nasty game bundles as a further cash grab/scam attempt, misleading both gamers and the bundle sellers. Just who do they think we are? Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the unethical actions of the developer (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

2+ hours of fun for 99c! music is great.
It is a very simple, basic, and barebones game, but it is also surpisingly fun, controls well, and has a pleasant soundtrack. The game is quite short and can be completed in under an hour, unless you are going for best times on the leaderboard. There is a free browser version of this game you can find online, that has all the levels, but it lacks leaderboards, and I found it to be somewhat laggy compared to the Steam release. If you do play this game, I challenge you to beat my best times on the leaderboard for the levels, especially on level 11 and level 20. :)
Not worth money.
