Arc Splitter my Beloved (serious good fun, some upgrades are like crack)
Gameplay ♡ Excellent - Simple yet amazing, and shockingly addictive. I absolutely love using the bow weapon, I mainly build it for lightning, multi-shot, and attack speed, seems to do the trick. The sword is fine, though I don't like being that close to the enemies. Graphics ♡ Beautiful - It fits the style of the game very well! Audio ♡ Very good - It's quite good, though you do start tuning it out after a few hours of gameplay. Story ♡ None - Is there one? If there is, I definitely missed it. Difficult ♡ Easy to learn / Hard to master - Build-crafting is the hard to master part, seeing how each ability links to each other, it's quite fun. Grind ♡ Average grind level - Only seems to be for gaining levels outside the main gameplay loop, offering additional build-crafting. Game Time ♡ Depends on you - It's up to your skill level how long it really takes. It is also highly re-playable, I can easily see myself getting 20+ hours. Price ♡ Perfect! - $9.99 AUD was such an easy buy. The Demo pretty much sold me on the game. Even the full price of $12.49 AUD is an easy buy. Complaints ♡ Minor Amount - My only complaint is I keep losing where the mouse is. Would love to see an option to have like a cross-hair (of various colours for colourblind reasons).
An enjoyable game with the potential to steal hundreds of hours from me! Obviously, being in early access there are things that are still in progress but I've already loved the few hours I've put into it. The cross game skill trees add a lot of versatility and the abilities gained through level up are so far, varied and none feel any less or more powerful. The enemy design is simple but striking and the future has me excited for where this can go! I'll be watching this closely and I hope if you're reading this, you will too!
Played 5 minutes at PAX-Aus. Loved it. Wishlisted it. Bought it today. Played it more. Loved it more. Pros: Upgrades come often enough at the beginning to really make each run feel different Lightning upgrade feels amazing, done so well. Good sound, music, animation. Fits the theme well. Hit detection is A+. Not once have I felt ripped off that I lost health. Every single time, it felt like it was my fault for not being careful enough. Can't wait to play more. Cons: - Levelling up is really slow at higher levels. Several times I thought "I should just kill myself now and start the next run which will have a better outcome for long-term progress". Players shouldn't feel that. There should always be a desire to continue the current run. Maybe there needs to be some indicators on the run screen about what long-term milestones are progressing. - Lightning is SO good that it makes fire and frost pale in comparison. Not saying Lightning is OP, but the times I've tried a Fire run or a Frost run haven't gone nearly as well. There is clearly some balancing to be done.
Where to start? The swords great, I keep getting killed when using it. The bow sucks, I keep getting killed when using it. The musics a banger, the free ball low-poly synth/retro wave reminds of me of classic artists like Swerslvt or PUNK TACTICS.
Fun Game very addictive! Looking Forward too see what else they will add in the future. (Please add an auto fire option Please, my fingers will thank you)
Love this game ! The Newgrounds-esque art style makes me feel so nostalgic. So easy to pick up and play, but tough to master. The ADRENALINE when you're close to a P.B/High score omg!! Patiently waiting for full release and whatever Tiny Island release next :3
>be a larg sword enjoyer >wake up wanting to roleplay as a rogue in yggdrasil >open plains of havoc.jpg on my murder machine >pick up my larg sword from the viking blacksmith >walk out into the arena to kill some monster c**** >swing my larg sword around as i watch the blood of my enemies flow (my sword is only slightly hotter than the beats being dropped) >be as good at the game as the devs are at making it >leave the realm sweaty and satisfied having delivered my load to save the plains >big number makes me a god - sit back as all the women and men want me and my larg sword >go to bed, wake up and do it all over again >10/10
Best $10 AUD I have spent all year! Highly addictive game play, you won't want to stop! I played the demo way to much and the early access has so many more improvements. I can't wait to see what they add next.
I love this game, it's great to relax to. I really like choosing which upgrades to get and working out the best upgrade strategy. The leader board is a fantastic part of the game and it's fun to try and beat others scores. The art and music are great too. Warning: it is addictive... and then suddenly you've been playing for a couple of hours.
