Boring mindless combat, and not much else aside from that. There's little strategy, you get fully healed after every battle, mp doesn't exist so there's no resource management. The enemies pose little threat, even if you just mash attack (and there often isn't much more you can do than that) and you often fight the same group of enemies several times
Played this game on stream as one of my indie game showcases, both myself and my community found it charming and fun to play. It kind of reminded me of both Pokemon and Final Fantasy and is what I would imagine if both games got combined. It was fun and engaging with optional side bits that you can explore to get some rarer equipment and whatnot. Longer than I thought it would be, and although I've yet to complete it, I think you can easily spend a good few days working your way through it. It does have controller support although the instructions are for keyboard so I found I had to play around to see what did what which is fine really. All in all I would recommend and it's an extremely reasonable price well worth the purchase!
i play this game for 101 mins and so far it a great game looking forward to play tomorrow. i enjoy the rpg feel of this game, reminds me of old school FF.
good game must play
A charming lightweight old school RPG with plenty of dad humor. A fairly chill adventure for when you need something to play in between Dark Soul deaths or your 5th restart in BG3.
Pixelot reminds me a ton of those old school Final Fantasy games with just the right dash of modern feel to it. Definitely worth checking out!
Great small game. A bit simple and repetitive, though. There are many puns to go along with the enemies to keep it somewhat interesting. I had to record it for a video. Two hours later, I checked the footage and even though the pop-up had been long gone, it was recording the place where you enter your name. I saw no option for the actual window. If you are planning on recording and/or streaming this small game, please, either don't specify the window, or check before you stream/record for two hours. Have a good day. P.S, If you enjoy loot and finding ways to get it, you might like this game. P.S.S, Yes, I'm posting the audio of my recording with bad drawings of what was happening.
Completed it, I liked it. Recruitment of many different characters is a cool feature so you can really synergize a little party. Reminds me of like the old school Dragon Warrior or Final Fantasy with little quests mixed in.
From the little I've played so far I can say that it has made a fantastic impression! Very charming, great music and some basic but well executed gameplay mechanics. Wears it's inspirations on it's sleeves proudly and I can safely recommend it to anyone with a fondness for old school turn based rpg's.
Pixelot is very good indie turn based RPG with pixel art esthetics that manages to entertain and engage the player for the most part. The pixel art, the music and the multiple RPG mechanics come together in a beautiful, compelling, and fun way giving the player an experience that oozes personality. However, the generic aspects of the setting and story, the lack of character development, the lack of significant story moments and the excessive number of fights that the game puts you through affect the overall experience of the game. That being said, Pixelot is a love letter to classic RPGS and it’s a game that is worth checking out. For this reason, I recommend Pixelot. Link to my non-spoiler review: https://youtu.be/V9L4I-WoWxg
