About

A powerful Vorpal Knight has kidnapped the last Pixies to drain their power and feed his ambitions! Start with a wimpy party composed entirely of children and grow ever-stronger as you recruit awesome heroes, find useful items, and discover game-changing relics. Assemble a legendary rescue team in this roguelike auto-battler — a love letter to the 8-bit RPGs of yore!

Magical creatures and humans lived in harmony for millennia, until a war broke out! Centuries later, magical creatures have been in hiding so long that most humans think they're just old fairy tales. But word on the street is that one BAD hombre believes they're real, and he's on the hunt for them, especially Pixies!
After years of searching, he finally managed to capture them... All except ONE, that is! It's up to the last pixie to find help. There's no telling what unimaginable evil that villain could unleash if he’s allowed enough time to drain all those pixies' magical powers.
You'll help, won't you?
Can you really say no to that face?

Customize your party!
Expand your party to contain up to 6 characters at once. With 32 unique classes to find and recruit, that’s over 906,192 possible unique party compositions! Combine that with dozens of game-changing relics and items for near-limitless possibilities. (Those numbers don't even consider party formation or duplicate characters!)
Have children fight for you!
Feedback suggests this is a selling point? Have small, weak children fight dangerous monsters on your behalf! Why are there so many cop cars outside? (Unintelligible SWAT noises.)
Explore the land!
Make your way through at least 5 unique biomes, including vast deserts, lush forests, and dangerous volcanic plains. Traverse towns, mysterious landmarks, booby-trapped caves, bazaars, and much more as you make your way to the villain's lair.
Grow Stronger!
Continuously unlock new characters, events, and upgrades between attempts. Permanently improve your chances of beating overwhelming odds!
Strategize before battle!
Your party will do its best to defeat any challenge they face, but only you can ensure victory by choosing the best team composition for each encounter and using your consumable items wisely. Your decisions will shape the fate of your party, the Pixies, and the world!
Flexible difficulty settings!
Unlock harder difficulty modes with each successful run. Or, if you're looking for a more relaxed experience, enjoy CASUAL MODE — a more forgiving experience that allows you to retry if you fall in battle.
True victory only awaits those who can beat the hardest difficulty setting, though... So, are you ready for a challenge?

I browse steam once a week about for a new auto battler to keep my occupied for small play sessions on my steam deck before bed. This game is an awesome, awesome roguelite. Huge for JRPG fans. Huge for autobattler fans. I found this game after scrolling over 100 games in the auto battle genre. I know its a new release but definitely already a hidden gem. Will be following PlayGG.Doctor and cant wait for future instalments/projects. You can feel the love put into this game as you play it, tons of extras you wouldnt expect out of a game in this price range. Jam packed with humor, secrets, and unexpected depth.
Oh, this iis a *killer* roguelite RPG!!! In love with it, pure joy especially when the first run is over and a really clever and great 'twist' plays out, really puts things in perspective and shows the pure love and passion put into this gem, really impressive stuff and really super well-made and handcrafted. Cheers dev, thanks for making an awesome gem!!
Pixel Pixie is a charming roguelike RPG with a unique style, a fantastic sense of humor, and some of the best writing I've ever seen (and that's saying something!). Mechanically, you build and customize your 4 member party by gradually finding and recruiting (or not) +30 completely different chars, which you then personalize through items, relics, and strategic decisions, depending on the dungeon and enemies in each biome. There's so much more strategy in this one than I would have imagined! It's one of those games that, at first glance, is simply a charming 8-bit retro-looking title (great music btw) to relax and unwind (along with some hilarious conversations with NPCs and between characters and incredible plot-twists). But there's much more than meets the eye: special events, combat arenas, puzzles, secret hidden areas and NPCs, secret bosses, and a huge underlying story that transcends time and space! I've played it for over +30 hours and haven't discovered all the secrets, nor leveled up all the characters I've found, nor tried all the options one has, and I'm still missing several of the 37 Steam Achievements already in place (and the title is barely in Early Access!!!). For the price, it's a steal, and even better, it already offers endless replayability. So far, I haven't found any bugs, but I have found a super wholesome Dev who communicates constantly, listens to people, and tries to incorporate all the QoL improvements and content suggestions while keeping his own unique concept grounded. And I always support that in this increasingly dehumanized industry. Having played games and met gamedevs all my life, I can tell already PlayGG.Doctor is a natural GameDev talent, super kind person, and fantastic dialogue writer. I wish the best for this great little title and give it my blessing, hoping people may appreciate the work and creativity behind it. I'll definitely keep my eye on this dev, waiting for what surprises he might brings us in the future.
Beat it in a day, Made me chuckle, still worth every penny. I wrapped the main quest up in a single day of gaming, because it’s short and not exactly going to melt your brain with difficulty. There’s still some extra content I haven’t touched yet judging by the achievement list, but if you play for long stretches in one go, it can start feeling a bit like you’re running the samey. The NES-style aesthetic is spot-on in that specific way where it feels like somebody dug up a lost game from 1989, and convinced it to run on a modern machine without losing the chunk. But honestly, the real prize here is the writing, full of wisecracks, absurd jokes, and a gleeful disregard for the 4th wall. It’s four bucks. It’s fun. It doesn’t hang around long enough to get boring. That’s a win. TL;DR: • Beat it in a day. • Can get repetitive in long sessions. • NES vibes. • Writing’s silly and self-aware. • $4 well spent if you like roguelikes.
Honestly really solid auto-battler, and well worth the low price of admission. Plays really quickly and is a pretty dang good time. Maybe 8-10 hours to unlock everything in total, plus a bit more to hunt the last few achievements. There's lots of interesting events, and, for the interested, an entire library of game lore that you can unlock at the end of the game. If I had a complaint it would be that it is simply too easy. The achievement for dying is like "oh, it's a roguelite and you'll die a lot"... I.. got it once on my first run and then I had enough meta upgrades that I only died one more time (when I tried to fight the reaper before I was ready), and that was it, even in "hardcore mode". Still, there's a pretty good game under here, and if you're looking for something a bit more chill auto-battling, you definitely could do a lot worse, even for 4 bucks. No bugs I've seen, and while some of it is a little awkward (walking back to town and stopping at all the completed levels, for example), it is already well polished and a great game to pick up for cheap.
UPDATE REVIEW: 11/27/25 with 83 hours of play time. I just finished play testing the entire game and got all the Achievements. This game was very good a year ago. Now, it is really fantastic! The developer is super responsive and very open to feedback. I'm a little sorry to have finished everything in this game. I'm looking forward to whatever this developer makes in the future. ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: Looks like I get to be the first reviewer. Yeah! That pretty much never happens. Spoiler: I give this game a strong recommendation. Disclaimer: At the time of this writing, my almost 45 hours of play time is as a play tester. I had the pleasure of play testing this game for a few months and watched as it evolved. The developer is very responsive and open to feedback. I would have missed out on this game if I hadn't been asked to play test it. I typically skip over games that have an Auto Battler tag. But I am so glad I agreed to play test this little gem. It is a great example of a not-your-typical-RPG-Maker game. I still haven't experienced all of the newest features because I haven't been playing many games recently, but I will definitely update this review once I can go back and start a new game based on the official release version. There is so much I like about this game. I like the variety of recruitable classes as well as the overall design concept and the simple story line. The game play is simple and easy to understand. The battles are quick and you can change the speed of the battles as well. There are quite a few different mystery events, a lot of character classes, a good variety of items and relics, and a good amount to discover and unlock. The music doesn't get old and the game play loop keeps me interested even after 40+ hours. As with many roguelites, user experience will vary. I think that a single play through could be done as quickly as 8-10 hours or it could be longer, depending on how well you do. There is a big skill tree to choose from and lots of little details that I enjoy, including a few secrets to find. Again, I'm not a fan of Auto Battlers and I don't really love Roguelites either, but I have really enjoyed playing this game. And I love the fact that you can save anywhere outside of combat and most combats are over in less than 30 seconds even at normal speed. And I like the element of chance where the choices that you are offered at the end of each combat can have a pretty big impact on your approach. Again, I highly recommend this game and I hope everyone enjoys playing it as much as I do. The developer has done a great job with this.
I added this to my wishlist since “JRPG roguelite autobattler for a few bucks” resonated right away, yet I didn't really have any expectations. But now, after playing? I’m pleasantly surprised! The story and all the surrounding elements are primarily a means to an end—but that end isn’t just the gameplay, it’s also a very meta and (self-)referential sense of humor that, thankfully, lands far more often than it misses. And the gameplay itself is, as expected, seriously addictive! After 9 hours, I finished the story, and there wasn’t a single dull stretch up to that point. “Just one more run!”—you know how it is. After that, I had enough of the game, but the rogue mechanics work flawlessly, and the core systems largely do as well. It’s also nice to see what’s been done here with RPG Maker. So as long as you like the genre and don’t go in with overly unreasonable expectations? A cheap hidden gem!
A delightful little JRPG-based roguelite. It feels like there are just enough decision points to make it an interesting game without turning it into a slog; you're not min/maxing rounds of combat, but there's still a decent bit of skill expression in knowing when to use your stat increasing items (as they don't affect future party members), budgeting gold, and choosing party compositions based on prior knowledge of a zone. Might be worth mentioning that I virtually never play games for the writing and will almost always be skipping it when given a choice, but I've really appreciated the game's, let's say, "frivolous" tone. I feel like I've gotten plenty of enjoyment out of my $4, and I'm (allegedly) ~3/5 of the way through the game. [Edit: Oh, and I bought it as soon as I saw the AI slop was removed from the steam page. Gotta reward good behavior.]
