FUNNY
Pit People is not what I expected from The Behemoth, and I have to stress that this is a GOOD THING. I've played some of their other games, and found them to be shallow and basic. Still, I bought Pit People on sale because I was lured in by the gameplay videos and apparent depth and complexity it offered. And you know what? It didn't disappoint at all. I love Pit People. It has a short but fun story, there's a ton of content to enjoy, and it's actually fun in single player. It's a turn-based tactical battler with deep and complex interactions between the 20 or so different types of units, plus loads of equippable items that modify stats. I don't know what the hell happened at The Behemoth but I hope they keep it up. Beneath the silly cartoon art and potty humor of Pit People lies the heart of a surprisingly cerebral and often quite difficult strategic war game that demands planning and a solid understanding of the units and how they play off one another. I have a few gripes of course, no game is perfect after all. - It has a bad habit of omitting important information about certain features, leaving you to search for specifics online - It doesn't give you the ability to rebuild your team on-the-fly to better prepare for battle, which kind of pigeonholes you into generalist team compositions - The difficulty fluctuates wildly from battle to battle and doesn't seem to correlate especially well with the quest skull rating or player team's strength, although you can usually flee battles if they're too much to handle - The randomness of unit target selection and some units' attacks can feel a bit cheap sometimes Still, even with the rough edges, Pit People is an addictive and intense yet still quite approachable experience, and an excellent addition to the all-too-sparse ranks of casual strategy games.
awesome turn based strategy game with sick music , plenty of whimsy and hilarious narration
Imminent Bear... Praise the Sun!
why is the final boss easier than the average enemy encounter? 10/10 would shank a bear in the nips again
I enjoyed this game. Thumbs up for you game. And a kiss on the lips.
