No pause button. Do not like being interrupted and forced to build special buildings to get special units to defend against enemies in the way the game dictates. Want to go my own pace and direction with those types of games.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

“Pioneers of Pagonia” attempts to embrace the nostalgic magic of the classic Settlers series, presenting a world that is superficially warm and inviting. Indeed, the buildings look cozy and the familiar rhythm of logistics is present, but much of the series’ original soul feels modernized away. Citizens are slimmer, lacking the chubby personality that defined earlier games, and construction sequences feel noticeably pared down, often obscured by generic scaffolding rather than showcasing the intricate, stage-by-stage growth of a building. (6/10) This streamlining is most apparent in the military systems. Where classic Settlers titles allowed you to directly select units and execute multi-pronged tactics, Pioneers of Pagonia limits your influence to command markers placed via building menus. You must construct specific structures just to assign units, and you cannot simply direct soldiers to a coordinate; instead, you set a focus point and hope the AI figures out what to do. The result is a significant loss of tactical agency, turning combat into a passive chore rather than an engaging challenge. Most jarring, however, is the disappearance of the series’ signature whimsy. Fallen soldiers no longer drift away as charming ghosts, but instead collapse and remain where they fell; a surprisingly grim detail for such a vibrant, inviting game. This tonal inconsistency extends into the campaign, which suffers from an odd moral dissonance. One mission frames the ‘Scavs’ as villains for hoarding wealth and mining resources, yet during my playthrough, they never invaded my lands. At most, they defended their own borders. Yet the objective is effectively to conquer their land, kill their leader, and seize their resources for actions the game otherwise presents as villainous. The game never acknowledges this role reversal, leaving its heroic framing feeling hollow. Ultimately, while the foundation is charming, “Pioneers of Pagonia” is weighed down by design choices that feel either overly simplified or morally poorly considered. It functions well as a peaceful builder, but it lacks the heart and personality of the games that inspired it. (6/10)
Not sure witch update that broke the game mechanics but it was fun before that
ugh building roads yourselves? On the bright side, this game made me install and play settlers 3 again
Classic cash-grab 101: rushing 1.0 and turning core items left out of the 'finished' version into a DLC that costs nearly as much as the 'full' game cost on EA, what a scummy bunch.
Borders are meaningless, AI is missing and enemies are boring, yet overpowered given you have to micromanage each type of soldier depending on the type of enemy you are facing. The game grinds to a halt as soon as you have long roads to travel or once lacked some crucial ressources. As a successor of a very succesful settlers 2, I would have imagined it not being too hard to create a fun game in the same style given it was possible like 20 something years ago already. Bring back settlers 2 with better graphics, better AI, more stable online PVP and PVE, more supply chains, maybe even ranged units, but dont try to reinvent the wheel in this boring way. And what the hell is this roadmap? The game is not finished, why is your focus on a damn cosmetics pack?
Schade.
