It is an acquired taste, mostly because the controls are challenging in the absence of reliable lock on on objects. Or maybe it is because I used the Retro Mode. Who knows. I probably will get used to it just like I got used to Braking in air to aim at things better and get the floating collectables. The game seems to be stylized as the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games with the combo point system (that seems to combo anything together, from eating a banana to grabbing a collectable). The whole point of the game is to be the most obnoxious bird species on the planet that is the Australian magpie and attack and poop on everyone and everything possible (you get the Paint Job trick bonus for crapping on a car). If like to explore the PS2 era places with unusual controls and like flying around, you might like this game. It is a little unpolished. I got this game from a Alienware Arena monthly Game Vault claim.

The game fully commits to that energy and doesn’t pretend to be anything else. ✔️ Tony Hawk(hehe...cause it's a bird)-style mission flow - Objectives are structured in short runs where you link actions together instead of just flying aimlessly. It gives the game purpose beyond the joke. ✔️ Comedy without overdoing it - The humor supports the gameplay rather than interrupting it. You are playing first, laughing second. Cons ❌ Controls need tightening - Movement can feel slightly off when you are lining up precise swoops, especially during time-based challenges. ❌ Cosmetic unlocks feel grindy - Unlocking new looks takes longer than it should for a game built around light, quick fun. ❌ Limited long-term pull - Once you clear the mission list, there is not much left beyond replaying for higher scores. Conclusion This game absolutely leans on its premise, but it is more than just a joke. Underneath the gimmick is a solid arcade loop that works. I know the novelty will fade eventually, but I still had a great time with it. It feels like the kind of game you boot up for a short session and leave smiling. Sometimes that is enough. I would play a million more levels of this. It truly felt like I was playing TH Underground again but with all the fun of being chaotic bird. Thank you for creating this, it brought back something I haven't enjoyed in a game in such a long time.

Fun, casual game that oozes PS1 nostalgia. After experiencing the world through a magpie's eyes I see why they are so drunk on power. If you want to poop on a bogan's car at Cottesloe beach while he tries to nail you with a VB can this is the game for you. The aim on the swooping takes a little getting used to, but I got it eventually.

This game is a unique telling of an australian cultural experience. Incredibly fun, super nostalgic, and I would reccomend to everyone I know.

Game is fun, but swooping controls are terrible. Add a little dot to where you are going to swoop, kind of like the dropping UI with slow motion. Other than that, game is great! Just tone down objective intensity a little. Especially love the slow-motion when you airstrike someone. 7/10 Don't buy if you have trouble with controls, otherwise great game!

It's goofy fun, well worth the price of admission. Terrorise the locals and interrupt a footy match!

Is there a more Australian game than a swoopy boi simulator?

Did you play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and find yourself thinking, like many of us did, this would be so much better if I could play as a magpie? Luckily Monster Shop Games swooped in to give the people what they've been asking for! [b]Rating:[/b] 7/10 [b]Overall:[/b] A really enjoyable game in the vein of THPS, with great theming and humor, held back a little bit by some jankiness and limited game modes, but 100% worth the asking price. [b]What I liked:[/b] The game play is fun and rewarding, and does a great job of replicating the short, frantic runs that defined many gamers' childhoods. The theme is incredible and unique, and the game is jam packed with humor. [b]What I didn't like:[/b] There is quite a bit of jankiness (clipping, graphical hiccups, etc.) nothing serious enough to ruin the experience, but worth noting. Being nitpicky, I'd really like to see some additional game modes, to add variety.
