Reviews
Amazing game! A much more complicated and detailed tactical RPG than XCOM. Most of the negative reviews are just about how the game was exclusive to the Epic Game Store and how they felt misled (valid concerns). But as of today, with all DLC and the TFTV mod it's a 10/10 experience. I've heard the base game with DLC is imbalanced so get everything, get Terror From the Void (TFTV) and kill some crab people

If you're looking for more xcom but want more complexity this is perfect for you. While the game isn't going to outshine xcom 2 in pure production value the atmosphere is still really good and the depth in machics is much appreciated. Besides a few qol features missing the game is still pretty fun. I'd say get it on sale and enjoy.
I enjoyed this more than Xcom. Best to be played with Terror from the Void mod. Xcom without the % aim cancer 95% miss. Setting feels a little darker to me. Some might not enjoy the sidegrade system cause its not always an upgrade system. But I personally like it. Clear recommandation.
Sehr schönes Taktikspiel auf Rundenbasis
I enjoyed this game a lot, but then again, I'm basically the demographic it was made for. Microprose's original 1990's X-Com UFO defense was one of my favorite games growing up, and while I enjoyed the more recent Firaxis reboots, I found that they stripped down the gameplay a bit too much, and removed some of the flexibility and customization potential that made for some of the best moments in the original. So, Phoenix Point, which is X-Com in all but name seems to be aimed squarely at me. It restores some of the flexibility of the original, making the classes a bit less rigid in their equipment loadout and the aiming system adds an interesting layer of decisionmaking. That being said, this game is probably not for everyone. It lacks polish in a number of areas, the UI isn't always user-friendly, the voice acting is.... adequate at best, and I've had some issues with crashing or framerates dropping to near-unplayable levels for no discernible reason. There were also a lot of opportunities to build on the original. The gameplay and core enemy abilities are maybe a bit too close to the recent X-Com versions and I think the devs missed an opportunity to spread their wings and try new ideas a bit. The difficulty is inconsistent and seems rather dependent on the RNG behind starting positions, many of the more powerful upgrades are so expensive that they're just not affordable in most games and so sit on the shelf unused, and like the original, the game desperately needs a way to save unit loadout profiles, to avoid a bunch of tedious work to give every unit the best possible stuff before missions. If you're an X-Com fan looking for a comparable experience, this is a great option, far better than Empire of Sin, which also heavily borrows from the X-Com playbook. If you're not a relatively serious strategy gamer, I might suggest that the Firaxis reboot first as a simpler and more polished expression of the same core elements.
pour les fans de X-com et plus exactement de la premiere mouture !!
