This game is dumb. I would use stronger language, but the censors are only slightly dumber than this game. The creator of this game should feel ashamed of themselves for producing something so unbelievably dumb. The level of stupidity one needs to have to believe this game holds value is literally incalculable. It is a miracle that any participant of this game is able to function enough to even turn the game on, or even feed themselves. The evidence provided by the game play tells us that only truly stupid and braindead individuals would find enjoyment from this dumb game, let alone feel pride from its creation.
Very cool game. Loving it.
I love this game so much.
Polecam!
Believe it or not, this game manages to be worse than UFO: Aftermath. Same as Aftermath, it is forcing the player to a certain pace, rather than enjoying base and squad developing, exploring and facing new threats. Make no mistakes, there are new enemies, but they are annoying and invention serves to frustrate not enrich. Challenge overtakes entertainment, which is the actual purpose of a game. The only redeeming feature is the graphics, which makes one yearn to see the first two UFO's in this new garb. albeit keeping the exact same mechanics. TL:DR I am not recommending the game not because it is not UFO - Enemy Unknown (1994), but because it is a bad game. Well, it is a bad game to me. I am sure there are plenty others who found it a bit more enjoyable.
Once you get the hang of it, a set of genuinely novel mechanics which bring flexibility and new thinking to the xcom formula. Great fun, with some genuinely interesting worldbuilding and mystery. Runs well, play with the TFTV mod and tweak to your preference
Xcom in very bad, atmosphere and base premise sucks
