About
Immerse yourself in the history of Ancient Egypt with 50 missions in Pharaoh™: A New Era, a remake of Pharaoh (and the expansion Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile), one of the best city builders from the golden age of Sierra Entertainment. Stone by stone, build your city and manage all aspects of its development to ensure it prospers and makes you a powerful and revered pharaoh.

Develop your city by cultivating the fertile lands along the banks of the Nile valley. Erect the iconic monuments of Ancient Egypt, including the pyramids, the Sphinx and the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Build temples and mausoleums to help manage all aspects of your city's health and culture as well as the predominant polytheistic religion of the time.
Ensure your city is prosperous enough to deal with economic or political crises, or even plundering by enemies. A pharaoh takes care of its people and does whatever it can to earn the favour of the gods.

Pharaoh™: A New Era celebrates 20 years since the release of the famous franchise with a complete remake, including more than 50 playable missions and over 100 hours of gameplay.
The "Campaign" mode teaches you the game basics while allowing you to experience a unique story in the heart of Ancient Egypt. Explore all aspects of life in a thriving city, build and manage all its fundamental elements to ensure it flourishes: the economy, internal and external trade, culture, health, agriculture, education, etc.

The journey back in time is really brought to life with this new version, which upgrades the gameplay mechanics to modern standards and completely redesigns the captivating soundtrack and gorgeous isometric 2D graphics.
Many indicators have also been added or improved: keep better track of the frequency or quality of the Nile's floods with the Nilometer, or don't lose sight of your population's mood with some unique new tools!

Reviews
El juego es entretenido, tiene gráficos excelentes. Sería bueno que los recursos excedentes pudiesen ofrecerse a los dioses o algo así.
Lots of bugs and glitches.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Damn, I hate games that force you to watch intros without any option to skip.
A true Caeser III spiritual successor. Better. Faster. Stronger.
Excellent re-design if you want a child to play a new version of the classic game but really miss the detail in compared to the previous. Other dislikes include a click heavy menu/operation and a lot of hand holding in the dynasty mode. May put some more time in, but at this point will probably just play the classic version. Probably wouldn't buy again, but as above, if you like a really casual builder (that is click heavy) it may be your style.
Terrible camera management, impossible to load troop on board ships, bridges issues, keyboard shortcuts issues.... pathetic.
To gra z serii "musisz to mieć !" Faraon został odświeżony i to całkiem fajnie zarówno grafika jak i muzyka. Niestety zabrakło wersji PL - smutne bo oryginał z dawnych lat był PL. Czy polecam ? Tak. W mojej ocenie 7/10.
been playing this game since it got released in 2000. I'm so happy that they remade this game. Highly recommended if you love city-building games. experienced some difficulties playing this on my "not gaming laptop" which was surprising cause I was able to play Sims 4 on that laptop (no mods, of course). It keeps crashing giving me unity 2019 error. This is more like a me problem tho so. anyway love, love , love this game!!
Can't say I would recommend it. Glitchy graphics, cumbersome GUI, just not for this century.
A faithful reimagining of a truly timeless classic that was part of the early days of the city-builder genre. Pharaoh: A New Era brings many Quality of Life upgrades to the original while remaining faithful and true to the original (and Cleopatra). The graphical upgrade as well brings fresh coat of paint to a still gorgeous art-style without straying too far into the cartoony. I will say the menus and loading screens are the exception as they stray a bit too much into the cartoon-y look for my personal taste. The missions remain true to their original form and can be as easy (with modern QoL changes) to hard as you'd like them to be. I'm still working through the campaign and plan to 100% the achievements as an ode to the original but after close to 40 hours of playtime I thought I'd gotten enough of a glimpse to know its a good and faithful adaptation for modern audiences to enjoy and discover.
