Looks very promising, although the physics need to be tweaked a little: Sliding on a saucer through your apartment ain't fun ;) Looking forward to see more.
this was a lot of fun, i cant wait till there is more content. the game ran smoothly on my PC without any settings change, details of game were great and lots of things to interact with
Is a great start to what i hope will be a great game. Very well made by great developers with fun hacking mini-games, very realistic command prompts, and great graphics.
Wow insane, I like this kind of content, I think it will be better to have difficulties like more difficult you go, more is realistic and use the real commands ! and option management, need to read documentation and stuff (or with your personal executable). Please add linux basic command is really strange to do "dir" like windows terminal (whose now can use ls for dir command). Thank you for this experience ! I hope you will continue !
"Phantom-OS" is an abandoned Early Access attempt to make a "desktop simulator" (yawn), combined with a little asset flipped Unreal engine window dressing as you have to get out of bed and walk to your computer. What that adds to the unpolished, buggy and pointless experience is beyond me. What do you do in the game? Well, it's got nothing to do with hacking obviously, it's just a text based desktop simulator puzzle game, but it's incomplete and abandoned, for pretty obvious reasons. Says a lot about how bad a game is that not only did gamers not want it, but the developer didn't want it either. The developers abandoned this 1 year and 10 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's free for now, but the developer intends to charge for this if it ever leaves Early Access... but considering the poor public reception, it's likely this will not be one of the 25% of games that ever gets finished and leaves Early Access. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
Overall a super cool concept, and tons of potential for the execution. Even with the short demo, it definitely ended with my feeling pretty satisfied and willing to play more if there was. The concept and style of the game are quite unique and fun, and I can definitely see this game being something I go back to in the future. The biggest pro is the simple fact that you do everything. Besides the instructions on your main goal, it's a pretty open game in the space you're given. You never feel like you have to do anything, but simply choose when and how to follow the quests.
Good Demo
Was a bit frustrating at first due to lack of tutorials but with a bit of help from the Discord I figured out what I was doing wrong. Although the demo is extremely short it has a ton of potential, looking forward to what they do with it in the future.
