persona 5 royal a masterpiece of a game it has it all story, characters ,gameplay and let's not forget the soundtrack with is not a surprise for a persona game easily 10/10 game .

Undoubtedly the "best" Persona game, though I wouldn't say it's my preference. Gameplay is absolutely stellar and the best Persona has ever seen, and social links have truly evolved here. Combat is excellent to play and much more engaging than vanilla P5, despite it being a tad unbalanced. A few of the dungeons are kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but there's enough bangers to more than level it out, and the first handful in particular really start the game off strong. The story is a little jank at times, and I take major issue with its villains - they range from comically shallow "hmm yes our EVIL plan is proceeding most EVILLY how wonderful muahahaha" cartoon mustache twirlers to believably despicable people that very much exist in real life. This becomes a problem when the game depicts VERY serious and very REAL acts of violence and abuse (e.g. the entire Kamoshida arc) then switches to some anime ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "muahwaha i love being evil" ♥♥♥♥ the next arc. The tonal whiplash is a massive issue IMO. Also, I find the ending to be a bit less punchy than vanilla P5's however I do enjoy the final arc quite a bit and all the new characters are very interesting. All that being said.... Damn, what a ride that was. I started this game after a severe low point in my life, and slowly chipped away at it over the course of a year and a half. It took me more real life calendar days to finish this than the game even spans in its calendar system lmao. I can't help but feel moved by P5's themes of tackling life head on and trying to make the world a better place. Truly, I came out from this game almost a completely different person than I was going in. Was this the game's doing? Almost certainly not lol but it still means something.

In this game, you spend your time as 2 prisoners. One jailed and guarded by 2 bipolar children. The other, imprisoned in the attic of a coffee shop every night by a small black cat. But fret not! Your night in shining armour can come to your rescue in the form of your high school teacher who works part time as an underground prostitute - whom of which you can also start a relationship with. No notes, strongly recommend.
