Die, die, and die again to collect malice and forge allegiances with fellow prisoners in order to learn new skills and enhance your abilities as you fight to escape this extraordinary hellscape.
From dark JRPG mastermind, Matsuzo Machida, developed by industry veterans at NatsumeAtari, featuring art by Miyako Kato, and with a brand-new soundtrack from Yoshitaka Hirota and Noriyuki Iwadare, enjoy a taste of the tenebrous in this prequel to the upcoming title, Penny Blood.
Become the Hellhounders, a band of anarchists each with their own unique weapons, skills, and personalities trapped in a bizarre interdimensional prison. Delve deeper into this dungeon to uncover the motives behind their mysterious captors, the Celestial Rainbow, and mix and max your character pairings to maximize on mayhem and customize the carnage.
Relive the Roaring 1920s as Penny Blood: Hellbound takes you through the fallout of World War I and the shadowy side of the societal changes that ensued. Featuring NPCs and bosses connected to true crime and real-world history, the Hellhounders’ story gives an intimate look at some of the issues and events of the era.
Bloodsurf the sanguinary surface of gore left in the wake of your destruction to slip past foes and cleave through hordes of the grotesque. Harvest energy from violence and unleash devastating attacks upon those foolish enough to stand in your way!
Your prison cell is your hub world which you’ll be teleported to every time you die, but you won’t return empty-handed. Malice gained upon each revival can be used in many different ways to permanently increase and diversify your strengths.
Join forces with your friends in online multiplayer mode as you bloodsurf through the worlds of Mictlan. Time your attacks to wipe out waves of enemies, and combine your courage to challenge the more menacing abominations that lurk within this prison.

Game is incredibly difficult for bad reasons, enemies never stagger so melee is suicide. Camera doesn't stay zoomed out far enough so enemies can charge from off the corners of the screen and hit you when you can't even see them, enemies also have auto tracking on their attacks so you can skate around behind an enemy and still get hit regardless. There's a weird delay between attacking and dodging so you can't reliably dodge, either. The game is also not coop like it claims, the multiplayer is just a wave survival mode.
I really liked the game, starting with the fact that the loading times are excellent. The difficulty is just right to provide a challenge without becoming frustrating, and if you prefer something more casual, you can also lower it. The item spawn rate is well balanced not excessive, but not impossible to obtain either. One standout feature I loved was the way character leveling is handled. It allows you to progress through the game without feeling it's impossible, as happens with other games in the same genre. Here, you genuinely feel your character improving from the very first upgrade. Having multiple characters also adds replayability if you want to play the game again but with a different twist. Overall, it’s a great game to spend several hours of fun.

This game is incredible, I fully recommend anyone who wants a good roguelike to try it out. Also, help out the devs as they are struggling financially and haven't been able to take their original game out! What an excellent game
pretty charming game with a nice cast and the gameplay is pretty fun. there are a few bugs here and there, but nothing gamebreaking. there's a lot of engaging elements in here with the story, world lore entries, upgrade mechanics and combat. the game stands on it's own very nicely, and if you've played shadow hearts 2 then there are some fun references that are sure to make you smile
This is the best game I've ever played, being part of the Shadow Hearts universe. I would give this game 8.5/10 for it's rich storyline and world building. Sometimes it's difficult to do but I'll still love it.
This is a very nice Roguelike. The setting and characters are great, I like the music, and it is really challenging. Only downside is that it is a bit repetitive, and you will fight the same stages and same monsters a lot, and it takes a bit of time to unlock new stuff and new options for your hideout. Nevertheless, full recommendation, especially if it is discounted
I enjoyed this a lot strange characters good music fun runs and some decent difficulty it is holding me over till the full game is released if ever. Dont see many people online but the game is good to play for an hour or 2 every once in awhile which is better than I can say for a lot of games nowadays.
