About
Keep pecking through endless dirt and uncover new underground biomes. Each area brings new materials, weird customers, and strange surprises.
From brave adventurers to clueless peasants, they all descend into your underground smithy. One wants heavy armor, another insists on something enchanted and oddly specific. You can’t exactly say no, so you’d better dig up the goods and hammer out whatever bizarre equipment they’re asking for.
Unlock new recipes and forge questionable equipment to meet their demands. Craft a Tater Jerkin from potatoes for crunchy, fried protection but will it actually keep them alive long enough to share the loot?

Discover odd encounters and make choices that leads to rewards or disasters. Do you peck open the mysterious box or leave it be? Do you rescue the goblin stuck under a boulder… or pretend you didn’t see him?
Peckers is designed to be your quirky corner companion. Dig, craft, and play at your own pace while it happily runs in the corner of your screen. Collapse, resize, or move it anywhere you need.

So I'm scrolling down the New Releases (as one casually does) and I notice this weird looking pidgeon and the name Peckers. It's cheap so I click to check it out. It turns out to be an idler where a pidgeon mines on your screen and you use the materials found to craft gear for your dudes to go on expedition and get better materials and cash for your upgrades. Ok, a bit lost at first but quickly understood what was going on (I was crafting 1 piece of gear at a time when I had to craft as many as needed in 1 "turn") but then noticed a bug and decided to contact the developer. I swear to god within the hour they had reproduced and fixed the issue and I can tell a developer that is that committed with their game and shows as much love as Humblebright does deserve all your support. It's cute, it's easy to get into and progression is nice. A different, more RPG-adjacent type of idler but remains casual and unintrusive unlike other games that need lots of micromanagement before getting going. I can wholeheartedly recommend Peckers and wish Humblebright all the best in this and future projects. If you're on the fence, hop in! The pidgeons yearn for the mines. Sick of copy-pasted and AI slop reviews? Me too. Check my other reviews here. Long live independent games.
A very cute little game, surprisingly fun for how simple it is! The art style and clear dnd inspiration make for a good hook. :D The UI is very intuitive, although I will admit it took me sending 5 adventurers to their deaths before realising that those numbers were actually stat requirements for success! ToT I also didn't realise that there were multiple sections of the shop until the button flashed as I went over it with my mouse, I thought they were just there to look at, but maybe that's just me :P I really like the gear part of the game, it's surprisingly in-depth, having to puzzle out how to *just about* meet the adventurer's requirements while spending as few resources as possible. You definitely *don't* have to play it like that, and just slap the strongest stuff on there, but very early on in the game you don't have as many resources to play around with. Plus deciding which pieces of equipment to upgrade vs unlocking new ones to meet the required stats, there's a good bit of strategy involved! One gripe that I have is that early on, gold is a little bit hard to get, coming only from adventurers, missions, or random encounters. Sometimes, when I find myself met with an adventurer with especially high requirements, I don't have the gold to unlock or upgrade my equipment. Sure I could just send them off with nothing but some tater toes to their name, but I feel bad killing the little guys :( . Maybe add gold as a mine-able resource? Not a lot, maybe 5 or 10 per node to start with, but the amount of gold would increase as you progress through the biomes. Overall, a very cute, addicting little game about a pigeon with a ren-fest vibe! Let's just hope that he brought enough underwear with him...
Played the demo during Next Fest and was impressed by the aesthetics for an idle game. The devs were also very quick to implement feedback that was given during the demo! It's now launched and has a much better flow now that the Stamina system has been reworked and they've implemented more patches since launch that address other feedback (such as randomly obtaining coins from blocks to help progression). Overall pretty fun progression clicker/idler with lots of hidden unlocks that you can leave on your desktop while doing productive things!
Thought this would just chill on the side while I worked on my thesis. Turns out Peckers is way too addicting for that. I have one semester left, a thesis to finish, and a very disappointed supervisor, all because I opened this game 'just for a minute'. If you want to get absolutely nothing done, this is the game for you. I am not okay, and I would do it all over again. 10/10
This is a beautiful and charming little game that makes dull work days more bearable I also love the fact you can shrink the game down to just the derpy bird to pecking in the corner while working on other things
Really enjoining my time with this game. It's fun to keep it around, collect resources and do some minigames in the short pauses while working. I believe the poisonous potato is bit too rare to be a common ingredient for crafting, but hey, maybe it's a skill issue on my side.
I love Pijon and will never get any work done. So cute and fun. I love that he sits in the corner of my screen. This is going to have the most hours played of any of my games. Highly recommended for boring college classes lol. Also so excited to see new biomes!! 10/10 love it!
Make sure you are unemployed before you buy this game.. I thought it would be something chill on the side while i play my main game.. but i somehow ended up getting addicted to playing two games at once, running only on caffeine and grinding for a god d*mn potato.. Its not your typical idle game too.. The quests really pulls you in way more than you expect.. O.O 10/10 - send help.
Really fun game and definitely worth my money! There are plenty of interesting aspects to manage but you can also decide to chill which is a great asset. Can't wait for possibly more content!
A simple game, good for something to have in the background
