A classically styled Corgi 2D platform adventure game with an indie zest with an intriguing storyline. not a puzzle platformer, more a puzzling story platformer or corginoir (but cheerier!). Level by level you get closer to the truth that you perceive.

Peanut had me excited with it's premise and cute graphics. Unfortunately, the game itself is not very good. It's just a sub-par Mario clone, and I don't hate games on the virtue of them being Mario clones because some can actually be quite fun (Marisaland Legacy for example!) but Peanut feels more like the Mario ripoffs you find on the app store that play serviceable, but also not quite right. The level design leaves a lot to be desired, and many of the stage gimmicks, such as the movable boulders, just don't really work and feel glitchy. The game itself just doesn't feel finished, either. Peanut boasts about it's story, but good luck experiencing it, because the text boxes don't work. Unfortunately, I do not think it will get much better, as the devs seem to think that making a retro-style game means they can get away with their games being "less polished". (Seriously, one of their news posts says this!) I think that the game could be decent with some polish, but right now it just feels like a cheap, cynical Mario clone looking for a few dollars. I urge Team Spikkeee to do better.
Terrible design, music, platforming, and graphics. The enemies and obstacles are complete jokes, too easy for anybody to take seriously. This game feels like a flash game from 2011, and the gameplay is not worth the listed price of 10 dollars. I received this for free and in return I promised a fair and honest review, and while this isn't the worst game I've ever played, I've also seen what a developer who puts just a little effort forward can do. The game is probably fine if you have really small kids, but know that it references adult humor in some places and that the gameplay will likely frustrate those kids. If you want to see the gameplay yourself I have a youtube channel under this same name and you're welcome to watch it there. I'll post a link once its uploaded.
Absolutely horrible. Was extremely immersive with incredible visuals until stage 4, where you get softlocked after killing the first boss. This made me depressed, and i will be uninstalling steam. Absolutely disgusting
THE BEST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME UNTILL STAGE 4 WHERE U GET STUNLOCKED AFTER KILLING THE FROG WITH THE AXE
É um jogo simples, legal, que relembra os velhos tempos de plataforma! Sem pensar em conquistas, itens secreto,gráficos e etc... Mas apenas focando em conhecer a história e pontuação! Vale a pena testar e se divertir! Fox!

Okay, yes, I ticked 'recommend this game'. But read this review, then decide if you should actually be shelling out for the game. Games like this is where things get difficult in being all YES/NO. Objectively, just looking at the game, Peanut is terrible. Ignoring the eye bleeding visuals, insanity inducing music and derivative story, at core gameplay, Peanut is frustrating level designs paired with floaty imprecise controls. As a game, at face value, it's horrible. But there are, scattered about the levels, the seeds of some cool ideas. And a quirky reinterpretation of classic platformer elements and scenes. Which is quite an achievement, given the relative poor quality of the overall product. Unfortunately they are buried in, well, having to actually play the game. If you don't care about peoples intentions, but just want an experience consummate to the fee you paid, avoid Peanut. But if you like bad but interesting platformers, or just want to show your support for a burgeoning developer which obviously has ideas that exceed their technical acumen, wait for a Steam Sale and then grab Peanut. Peanut is a platformer game with a casual feel to it and is colorful. Unfortunately it doesn't quite feel right or finished yet. The controls are not very good, you can use keyboard which requires 2 hands but at the same time you will have to switch to using the mouse in order to get through menus and confirm things etc. It's horrible having to keep switching your hand from the keyboard to the mouse, the keys could easily be mapped to do the commands you are using the mouse for. This must have been an oversight because there is no reason for it. Using a controller things are better in terms of character control, however, one of the buttons (y on my xbox one controller) accesses the menu and gives you no way to escape unless you reach for that mouse again. One of the buttons is literally a trap that can kill you because in order to unpause that menu you need to use the mouse which means you only have one hand on the controller meaning you can't instantly control your character after the unpause. It happened to me while jumping between platforms and I died. The platforming isn't the best either, it's got some problem either with your jumping responsiveness, edges of platforms not being very accurate, or both.. The HUD text on screen can also become lost in the background when it's the same or a conflicting color, I show it in the video. The text should have some outline so it can be read always, even if over top of the same color. The camera though, that's the worst part, it doesn't show you enough below your character, Sometimes it's a bit weak towards the sides like if you are jumping but that may be more related to level design, it's definitely a problem with lower things though and the developer knows this because they put coin trails at most (not all) of the jumps which basically show you where to jump. This isn't the best method though and a different camera style could easily improve everything about it, I would suggest the developer check out other camera styles and switch it up. It's unfortunate that this game feels so lacking in those areas, the colors are very nice and the art styles are okay, the main character looks hilarious - I love the main character. There's 45 levels, I didn't make it that far though, I got to one level that had multiple waiting sections and I died so many times due to the camera or the loose floaty platforming and almost lost my mind to frustration. It wasn't the dying that was infuriating, it was having to repeat all the waiting sections every single time, it was so brutal. Perhaps checkpoints could help in some way, I really don't like the idea of waiting sections though. Anyways, I wouldn't recommend this at this time, it's needs more work. Hopefully one day it will have tighter controls and a better camera.
Sehr simples Design, kein herausragendes Element und im ersten Level von Welt 2 konnte ich nicht weiter spielen, weil eine Mechanik nicht richtig funktioniert https://youtu.be/tMu5LKjitew
An adorable little platformer, with surprisingly tight controls. The visual style may not be for everyone but it has a charming sense of humor. Difficulty is a little steep but fair and its super fast to try again. It may be a tad rough around the edges but this is a fun game!
