About
Establish the greatest regime in history in this darkly satirical colony sim and FPS roguelite hybrid. Build a prosperous totalitarian state, enforce policies, and lead your troops into first-person battles that grow from desperate skirmishes into large-scale mechanized war.
Dictate wisely. Every choice shapes society, for better or worse.
Mold your citizens through fear, propaganda, surveillance, punishment or rule as a benevolent leader through comfort and prosperity.
While they work for the State, they may grow grateful, afraid, loyal, or quietly rebellious, until dissent becomes revolt.
Venture into the fractured territories of the Tyris System to gather resources, conscript new citizens, trade with wandering merchants, and feed the growth of your colony.
Fight beside your troops in roguelite FPS battles, from hostile ships to large-scale mechanized battlefields of infantry, tanks, and mechs, spreading your doctrine and eliminating threats to humanity.
Weakened foes can be captured and dragged back to your base.
Behind prison doors, resistance can be crushed through fear, indoctrination, execution, or conversion, until an enemy becomes a citizen, a warning to would-be rebels, or another tool of the regime.
Elite enemies, bosses, and Sector Overlords flood the battlefield with bullets, lasers, missiles, drones, artillery, and overlapping projectile patterns.
This is war at scale, but you are not alone. Order your troops to secure victory, or use them as expendable shields to achieve your ends.

Turn a handful of survivors into a vast, tightly run, self-sustaining colony.
Assign citizens to mine, gather, haul, research, and manufacture weapons, armor, food, and supplies. Watch fragile shelters become the machinery of the State.
Collect roguelite cores during each expedition to grow stronger, survive longer, and push deeper into enemy territory.
Weapon Cores reshape how your guns handle. Combination Cores create synergies between different core sets. Others strengthen the troops fighting beside you, or turn them into sacrificial shields for your survival.
Each run becomes a shifting war machine built around you, your squad, and the chaos you unleash together.

Pax Autocratica is a totalitarian colony sim and FPS roguelite hybrid that combines base building, citizen management, and first-person chaotic battlefields filled with infantry, vehicles and bullet hell. It offers a dynamic, accessible, and approachable gameplay experience for all in a sci-fi dystopian world.
It’s a game about power. How it’s built, how it corrupts, and how it consumes.
You will command armies, dictate laws, and witness consequences in every face that salutes you or fears you.

I'll keep it short very short. It seems to be a minority opinion, but personally it very much feels like the tags are a little deceptive. This game is heavily an fps/action game or whatever you'd call that. The colony sims, base building or survival tags are barely a part of the game. I'm sure doing repetitive 5 minute missions where you shoot every one in a room over and over appeals to some (clearly), but I had hoped the tags were accurate and that there was more to this game
"The Leader need not suffer routine labor" well what if the Leader wants to suffer routine labor?

The State asks that I endorse Cult of the PalDivers. I shall enact the State's will without hesitation. Glory to the Father.
ill cut to the chase this game is as advertised no BS i can see as of my 24 hours of playtime a game that does everything (by a margin) its very fun do give it a shot i personally love it and see my self dumping 1000 hours in to this game and still having fun And the greatest part is? its still in Early access so things will only get better :)
Dachte ich schaue mal kurz rein und Schwupp waren 4 stunden um. Sehr gutes Spiel zum einfach mal Kopf abschalten.
after the update(8/25/2026) windows security blocked the game. will change when it works again.
10/10 I started playing, The Father told me to prove my worth and loyalty, I killed a bunch of aliens, I started crusade against them, built whole opression system in the name of the State, Now I am the opression! You've got everything in here, Management of your colony when you feel productive, doom styled combat during expedition when you want some fps, large scale battles when you want heroic moments! I absolutely enjoy this game!
I only played for about half an hour, but I've seen so many telltale signs of generative AI used in the art (and maybe the voice acting?) that I've been forced to write a review. If it was only used for concepting, if it was just placeholder art, whatever. I can't be bothered to engage with it when the primary loading screen of the game looks like an AI generated image that was touched up in photoshop by someone who thought they could fool us with a dash of human touch--which, spoiler alert, they didn't. That's not to mention the character portraits, which also bear the clear hallmarks of "ai misunderstanding human anatomy and its symmetries." I don't really want to give money to a company incapable of caring enough about their project to put quality human labor into *every aspect* of it before dumping it into my lap and saying "this is worth paying for," ESPECIALLY when they don't make use of Steam's generative AI disclosure (which they used to have, but for some reason got rid of, despite still containing AI generated content). What's the real problem with using AI to create parts of their game? Why not let this self-proclaimed small dev team (which they remind you of each time you launch the game) cut some corners while they're in early access so that they can create more while doing less? Because it's derivative. Because whatever concept they end up with, it has to be something so average, so banal, so mind-numbingly mediocre that it could be generated by a chatbot in less than a tenth of a second. I will be refunding this. Best of luck to the developers, I hope you choose to show some basic respect to your audience by being honest with them.
Pax Autocratica is a strange mix of creature collector, colony management, and roguelike. I was skeptical of this starting out as it seemed like it might be trying to go in too many different directions, but the game is surprisingly solid despite having so many ideas at once. The game separates itself into two main sections: the colony, and going out on expeditions. The colony part of it has you managing soldiers that you've recruited or captured during expeditions. Like other sim games, each soldier has skills to contribute to the colony: researching, cooking food, mining materials, and so forth. They also have combat skills which come into play during expeditions, as well as traits which influence both expeditions and their life in the colony. You might have a total piece of garbage from a colony management perspective that you might otherwise get rid of, but he might be a beast on the combat side so you keep him around. On the flip side, some soldiers are useless in combat but make up for it by being good at your base. Soldiers also get "active" abilities that they'll use during combat, like throwing grenades, launching rockets, etc. So you might have two soldiers that are otherwise identical but one has different active abilities too. The other side of the game is expeditions. You do these in between managing your base, and are laid out in an open sector of space where you fly around in your space ship (upgradable, with better ships allowing you to take more guys into combat) and visiting points of interest, sort of like the linear maps you might see in a roguelike game except in space and you can go anywhere instead of a branching path. As you fly around, the enemies that control the sector gradually become more alert to your presence, making battles tougher so you're pushed to try and progress each "run" relatively quickly. During combat, powerup "cards" will periodically appear giving you a selection of three boosters to pick from sorta like progression in 'Survivor'-type games. These range from adding a chance to launch missiles every time you hit an enemy with bullets, to summoning drones, launching poison gas, reactive armor, and even things like boosting your damage if your own guys get killed. There's a lot of variety and I've been finding the runs varied enough that they don't feel samey. Another thing to think about during combat is capturing enemies. These are mostly random and there's no way to tell what you're going to get, so I usually stock up on a bunch of capture rounds and get a whole bunch of recruits, keep the best ones, and liquidate the rest. After a set number of combat encounters, you're faced with a "Decisive Battle" to end the run. In the first sector these were larger battles where your faction sends NPC reinforcements alongside the guys you normally bring, on top of tanks and artillery to really ramp things up. The first battle being to destroy an enemy mecha which felt appropriate. Overall, Pax Autocratica is a pretty solid game and has a really interesting mix of ideas.
